the curtains and opened the balcony doors. A gust of cold air whipped around my face blowing my papers wildly around the room. I hurried out and shut the door silently behind me. I stared back into the gloomy darkness before walking to the edge of the balcony. I peered down into the garden and levered myself over the fence, I waited patiently for the right gust of wind before dropping down into the murky depths. I scurried across the grounds until I met the large black gate in front of me. I climbed over it with ease after having years of practice I knew how to miss the spikes and the slippery ledges. I was in the street seconds later grinning to myself. I started to run – faster and faster until all I could feel was my hair blowing in the wind. Faster, faster until, eventually, I soared up into the sky, above the neat lawns and large houses. I twirled around enjoying the freedom; I relaxed and began gazing around for my mission. Tonight I was to kill. Tonight I was to make a name for myself. Tonight, I become the Devil’s Apprentice.
