Thai Recycle Costume

ในปัจจุบนั วัฒนธรรมไทยในสังคมไทยเริ5 มลดลงไปเรื5 อยๆ โดยถูกแทนที5ดว้ ยวัฒนธรรมตะวันตก ไม่วา่ จะเป็ นเรื5 องของการแต่งกาย อาหารหรื อแม้กระทัง5 ชีวติ ประจําวัน วัฒนธรรมไทยของเราได้เลือนหายไปตาม กาลเวลาและอิทธิพลของชาติอื5นๆ เราจึงได้ปัญหานีNมาใช้เป็ นแนวคิดหรื อคอนเซปหลักในการทําชุดรี ไซเคิล ของห้องเรา ในส่ วนของคอนเซปหรื อแนวคิดหลักของชุดไทยรี ไซเคิลของห้องเราคือการเปลี5ยนแปลงและ ปรับเปลี5ยนของวัฒนธรรมตามยุคสมัยที5เปลี5ยนแปลงไปในประเทศไทย โดยสื5 อออกมาผ่านการใช้ชุดที5สามารถ แปลงรู ปได้ เราเลือกที5จะสื5 อแนวคิดออกมาดังนีN แรงบันดาลใจของเรามาจากชุดไทยในสมัยรัชกาลที5 ๕ ซึ5งเป็ น ยุคสมัยแรกๆที5มีการสร้างสัมพันธ์ไมตรี ที5ดีกบั ต่างประเทศและเริ5 มมีการเปิ ดรับวัฒนธรรมจากประเทศอื5นๆมาก ขึNน ทําให้เราเลือกที5จะนําต้นแบบในสมัยนีNมาใช้ ชุดไทยในสมัยนัNนจะมีลกั ษณะเข้ารู ปในช่วงเอว มีผา้ ฟูในส่ วน ของหัวไหล่จนถึงต้นแขน ส่ วนของแขนเสืN อมีความยาวถึงข้อมือ มีการใช้เข็มขัดรัดช่วงเอวและใส่ คู่กบั โจง กระเบน ชุดก่อนแปรรู ปจะเป็ นชุดที5คล้ายกับรู ปแบบในสมัยร.๕ เพื5อที5จะสื5 อถึงความเป็ นไทยในสมัยก่อนที5เริ5 ม มีวฒั นธรรมตะวันตกเข้ามา วัฒนธรรมไทยเริ5 มเปลี5ยนแปลงไปตามอิทธิพลของวัฒนธรรมตะวันตกตามเวลาที5 ผ่านไป คนไทยเริ5 มที5จะละเลยวัฒนธรรมไทยและหันไปสนใจและนิยมวัฒนธรรมของตะวันตกมากยิง5 ขึNนทําให้ วัฒนธรรมของเราเริ5 มที5จะเลือนหายไป เราต้องการที5จะสื5 อว่าวัฒนธรรมมีความสวยงามในรู ปแบบของตัว วัฒนธรรมที5มีอยูแ่ ละสามารถอยูร่ ่ วมกับวัฒนธรรมตะวันตกที5เข้ามาอย่างเข้ากันและไม่ลา้ สมัยได้ แนวคิดนีNถูก สื5 อออกมาผ่านชุดที5แปรรู ปแล้ว เสืN อที5เราออกแบบมาในตอนแรกสามารถเข้ากันได้ดีทN งั กับโจงกระเบนแบบไทย หรื อกระโปรงยาวในแบบตะวันตก โจงกระแบนจึงถูกเปลี5ยนรู ปให้เป็ นกระโปรงยาวโดยการปลดส่ วนหน้าของ โจงกระเบนออกกลายเป็ นกระโปรงยาวในแบบตะวันตก นอกจากนัNนด้านในของกระโปรงยาวยังมีกระโปรงสัNน ที5เข้ากับยุคสมัยของปัจจุบนั ชุดนีNเป็ นการผสมผสานระหว่างวัฒนธรรมไทยและตะวันตกอย่างลงตัวเหมือนกับ การที5วฒั นธรรมของไทยสามารถอยูร่ ่ วมกับวัฒนธรรมตะวันตกได้โดยที5ไทยก็ไม่ได้ดอ้ ยหรื อล้าสมัยไปกว่า ตะวันตก โดยรวมแล้ว ชุดของเราแสดงถึงอิทธิพลของกาลเวลาที5จะทําให้วฒั นธรรมไทยเดิมของเราด้อยค่าลงใน สายตาของคนรุ่ นใหม่หลายๆคน แต่ในความเป็ นจริ งแล้ว วัฒนธรรมไทยไม่ได้ดอ้ ยไปกว่าวัฒนธรรมตะวันตก เลยแม้แต่นอ้ ย ทัNงยังสามารถผสมผสานกับวัฒนธรรมต่างชาติที5เข้ามาได้อย่างลงตัว หากแต่การผสมผสาน วัฒนธรรมเพื5อให้วฒั นธรรมจะเกิดขึNนไม่ได้หากคนไทยไม่เห็นคุณค่าของมัน ดังนัNนชุดรี ไซเคิลของเราไม่ได้แค่ แสดงถึงการดํารงอยูแ่ ละผสมผสานของวัฒนธรรม แต่ยงั ทําให้คนไทยฉุกคิดถึงความสวยงามและความสําคัญ ของวัฒนธรรมของชาติที5อาจเลือนหายไปด้วยเช่นเดียวกัน

In modern times, traditions and cultures in Thai society are being threatened and replaced by the influence of western cultures. Not only clothings or food, but this also applied to our lifestyles. Thai traditions are fading away and being forgotten as time passes and external influences grow. So, we decided to bring this problem up and use it as the main idea and concept for our class’ recycle costume. For our concept, it is about changes and adaptations of traditions along the age and era in Thailand. It will be shown through our costume that can change its form. The inspiration for this costume came from Thai people’s clothing during the reign of King Rama V, which was the time Thailand had started creating friendly relationships with western nations and accepting some of their cultures, and that is why the clothings during King Rama V matched our concept perfectly. The clothings of that time would be long-sleeved, slim on the waist part, have frills along the shoulders until upper arms, and area around the waist was tied up by a belt. It was wore along with the Thai loincloth called “Jong Kra Ben”. The costume before transforming will resemble clothings during King Rama V time to show Thai cultures before western nations come in. As time went on, Thai cultures began to decline as Thai people became more interested in western cultures and started to neglect their own. The message we want to communicate is that everything has its own charm that is unique from others and that Thai cultures can coexist with western cultures without being outdated. The message will be transmitted through the costume’s transformation. The shirt was designed to match well with both Thai loincloth and a long skirt. By tugging the loincloth, it will spread out into a western long skirt while showing a short skirt that was hidden inside the loincloth. This costume will be the result of Thai cultures interweaving with western cultures without being outshined by them, just like in our society, where both could coexist without Thai traditions going out-of-date. Overall, our costume depicts the effects of time that have had on our cultures. Newer generations of Thai people see their own culture as inferior even though it is not the truth. Actually, Thai culture can accept foreign traditions, adapt, and merge them together with it. But that could not happen unless we see the worth of our own cultures. Therefore, our design does not only show the combination of ours and western culture but also serves as a reminder to Thai people of beauty and importance of Thai culture and also how it might be lost forever if we do not pay attention to it.

Self - Reflection

Thai recycle costume competition project is the project that we had to work in class. Everyone has a different role depends on the preference and skills of each person. First, we came up with the sketch of the costume which is Thai dress that can be transformed into Western styled dress. Main idea of our costume is the culture that changed and develop as time passes by. I shared my ideas with my friend in the project and combined it with another ideas to create best costume. My role in the project is to help making accessories from chop sticks, straw and papers. I also faced with many problems because the overall costume wasn’t look so good on the model. Me and some of my friends had to paint the plastic bags ( upper part of costume) again and make the sleeves again. On vichakarn day, I also helped dressing model and writing the script for model. From this project, I had learned many skills such as how to save problems on time and learned to work as a team. Another thing that I got from this project is the solving problem skills. Also, I learned how to think outside of the box which is very important skill. I am very impressed of the costume and I’m very proud of myself. Eslos that connect to this project are future leadership because we worked in group and we had to manage work well in order to complete the project. Strategic learner because we had to find the way to improve our costume when somethings went wrong and be creative. Innovative thinker because we shared different ideas and think outside of the box.

งานรี ไซเคิลชุดเป็ นงานที2เราได้ ทํางานกันเป็ นห้ อง แต่ละคนก็ได้ รับมอบหมายหน้ าที2ที2แตกต่างกันไปซึง2 แบ่ง ตามความชอบและความถนัดของแต่ละคน หลังจากแบ่งงานแล้ วเราก็ได้ ชว่ ยกันออกแบบเสื Hอสําหรับนางแบบซึง2 เรา ตังใจว่ H าชุดของเราจะสามารถแปลงจากชุดไทยเป็ นชุดแนวตะวันตกได้ แนวคิดหลักๆของชุดคือวัฒนธรรมที2เปลีย2 น แปลงไปตามยุคสมัย เมื2อกาลเวลาเปลีย2 น วัฒนธรรมก็เปลีย2 น ฉันก็ได้ มีสว่ นร่วมในการช่วยคิดไอเดียและแลกเปลีย2 น ความคิดกับเพื2อนแล้ วดัดแปลงความคิดเพื2อให้ ได้ แบบที2สมบูรณ์ หน้ าที2อีกอย่างที2ฉนั ได้ รับมอบหมายคือการทําเครื2 อง ประดับซึง2 ทํามาจากตะเกียบ กระดาษ และ หลอดดูดนํ Hา โดยหน้ าที2ฉนั คือทําปิ2 นปั กผม แต่สดุ ท้ ายเมื2อลองกับชุดแล้ ว ไม่เข้ ากันจึงไม่ได้ ใช้ ฉันได้ เจอปั ญหาหลายอย่างหลังทําชุดเสร็จซึง2 คือชุดดูไม่สวยเมื2อนางแบบลองใส่ ฉันและเพื2อนๆจึง ได้ ชว่ ยกันแก้ ไขอีกรอบนึงโดยสเปรย์ถงุ พลาสติกที2ใช้ ทําท่อนบนให้ สสี วยขึ Hนและทําแขนเสื Hอให้ สวยขึ Hน นอกจากนันใน H วันวิชาการ ฉันก็ได้ ชว่ ยแก้ ชดุ ใหม่และใส่ชดุ ให้ กบั นางแบบ แล้ วยังช่วยเขียนบทตอบคําถามที2นางแบบต้ องพูดหากเข้ า รอบด้ วย จากงานนี Hฉันได้ เรี ยนรู้การแก้ ปัญหาเฉพาะหน้ า การแก้ ปัญหาให้ ได้ ตรงตามเวลา การทํางานเป็ นทีม ที2สาํ คัญ ฉันได้ เรี ยนรู้การคิดนอกกรอบซึง2 มีความสําคัญในการทํางานมาก ฉันรู้สกึ ภูมิในและประทับใจในงานนี Hมาก Eslos ที2 เกี2ยวเนื2องกับงานนี Hคือstrategic learnerเพราะเราได้ พฒ ั นาและหาหนทางเพื2อที2จะพัฒนาเสื Hอของเรา นอกจากนี Hก็ มีInnovative thinker เนื2องจากเราได้ ทํางานเป็ นทีมและช่วยกันจัดการ แบ่งงานต่างๆ และ Innovative thinker เพราะ เราได้ ใช้ ความคิดสร้ างสรรค์ตา่ งๆ แลกเปลีย2 นความคิดกันและคิดนอกกรอบ
