HOW IS HARVEST SOLAR INC. DIFFERENT? INNOVATIVE INSTALLATION It is paramount that we preserve the overall integrity of the structure when making any additions to your home or business. Therefore, we take extreme measures to prevent water penetration. During installation, many contractors drill right through the roof overhang and simply caulk around the conduit hole. Our highly trained, experienced roofing professionals do not take these kinds of shortcuts.

INSTALLATION IT’S ALL IN THE DETAILS - We at Harvest Solar have compiled a team whose ownership and installers are consummate construction and renewable energy professionals that have been trained to spend the additional time necessary to be sure that a job is done right the first time. We do not look for short cuts. All of our installers know that each job is carefully reviewed by ownership upon completion and any inferior workmanship is not tolerated.

MAINTENANCE VIRTUALLY MAINTENANCE FREE – We’ve all heard the phrase “virtually maintenance free” and have varying beliefs about what that statement means. What that means for a solar system is that if you want, you never have to do anything to the solar panels ever again. They will typically survive thirty plus years on your roof and never require tuning or adjustment. We recommend cleaning the glass on the panels once a year so that you receive optimum quantities of electricity. When the glass is too dirty the panels can lose three to four percent of their efficiency. The only other potential replacement item is the inverter. Inverters typically have a lifespan of between 15 and 30 years. We are happy to include the cost of an inverter in your personalized financial analysis at your request.

How It Works… Solar panels silently convert light into electricity. They have no moving parts, require little maintenance and are designed to last for many years. Solar panels use the “photovoltaic effect”, discovered by Edmund Becquerel in 1839. Solar panels work best in direct sunshine, but they also work well even on cloudy days. Solar panels can supply a substantial proportion of the electricity needs of a typical household. Apart from reducing your utility electricity bill, homeowners can often sell any surplus electricity directly back to the utility at an attractive rate.
