NEWS FROM THE ALPHA INTERNATIONAL KINDERGARTEN

8 DEC 2008 - OFFICIAL OPENING OF TAIK The Alpha International Kindergarten gets off to a smooth start The Alpha International Kindergarten (TAIK) got off to a smooth start when it opened its doors to the public on Mon 8 Dec 2008. Well-wishers apart, the school also had numerous enquiries on enrollment. Our dancing puppet seemed to have done his job. We welcomed our very first 2 students, BAO & NGOC, with open arms.

Preparations are never complete and we are still improving our facilities and equipment. The Promethean ActivBoard will help teachers enhance their teaching value. The Children’s Rock Wall is equipped with rock holds imported f ro m t h e U n i t e d S t a t e s a n d specially made for children’s hands. Our playground equipment are from Step2, a renowned US company specializing in children’s play equipment.

Christmas Break School is closed for Christmas holidays from 25 Dec 08 to 1 Jan 09. TAIK will re-open on 5 Jan 09. Most important of all is the quality of learning that we will provide at TAIK. English Language Enrichment Courses for Children TAIK will open for after-school and week-end English Language Enrichment Courses for Children in Jan 2009. Details will be publicized in the new year.

Teacher Training Saturday is set aside for our teachers’ professional training. Last Saturday, our Principal and class teachers attended the training on Montessori to understand a dif ferent aspect of teac hing children and came away with new ideas. TAIK will continue to invest in teacher-training so as to ensure that our teachers are kept up to date with the latest developments in educating young children.
