Significantly, though, he recalls "being aware" of the request or the issue as early as Sept. 11 or 12. By the way, I just learned from PZ that both Bush and Cheney denied having been called by the Saudis on this matter. Bush said the first he knew about it was when he read about it in the newspaper.
