As a follow-up to your letter of July 28, 2003, establishing procedures for our Commission's access to GAO records, and our letter of July 29, 2003, we wanted to update you on our progress in reviewing GAO materials. We have now met with many of your staff and received valuable briefings from them on their work past, present, and future. We appreciate the cooperation we have received from you and the GAO. Based on these broader briefings to date, we would like to request the opportunity to inspect and copy selected workpapers from the following completed GAO Reports:

In addition, we understand that you are in the process of completing a report on the U.S.-Visit Program, and we would ask for similar access to selected work papers once that report is released.
