July 2009 – present: The Personal Support Unit (at the Royal Courts of Justice and the Principal Registry of the Family Division): Ÿ Accompany litigants into court to provide emotional support and debriefing afterwards.
Ÿ Make calls to help litigants find out more about procedures governing their cases. Ÿ Advise litigants on court procedure. Ÿ Speak to ushers and / or judges' clerks on clients’ behalf before and after hearings. June 2004- July 2004 - Ormerods Solicitors (Work Experience) I shadowed a variety of solicitors enhancing my knowledge of the day-to-day work of family, criminal and commercial solicitor.
Voluntary Work: School Library Assistant. English Tutor. Nursery Assistant (Orchard Primary School – Hackney). After-School Homework Club helper for Refugee children at Amy Johnson Primary School.
Working as the LLB Law Course Representative enhanced my assertiveness, public speaking, negotiation and committee skills. I ensured that the student voice was listened to and acted upon. President of the University of Westminster Howard League Society. The Howard League campaign for penal reform for youth and women offenders and visit Prisons and Secure Units
Interests: Singing (I’m regularly asked to perform at weddings and other events), badminton and jitsu. References: Available on request.
