Requirements The following requirements must be met by students who are enrolled in the course or who expect to represent MUN at any conference/event. Country Study (10%) Prepare an overview of the history, politics, economics and culture/society of a selected country. Requirements: • Stapled, double-spaced with one-inch margins, and typed in a 12-point font. • Length of 3-4 pages text (does not include reference page). • Page numbers. • Proper citations (parenthetical or foot/endnotes). • Reference page: minimum of 3 scholarly references. • DUE: October 14, 2009
Position Papers (30%) Prepare written statements of your chosen country’s position on the topics assigned. Requirements: • Hard copies: stapled, double-spaced with one-inch margins, and typed in a 12-point font. • Format as stipulated in sample position papers to be distributed. • DUE: October 21, 2009 Speech (10%) Prepare a two minute speech about one of the committee topics. Use your position paper as a basis. Be sure to use proper MUN terminology. • DUE: October 28-November 4, 2009 Working Papers (3 at 10% each) Work with other members of the class to prepare working paper/draft resolutions on the three assigned topics. These will be done in class, but will require research to be conducted outside of class. Requirements: • Hard copies: stapled, double-spaced with one-inch margins, and typed in a 12-point font. • DUE: November 11-18, 2009 Club Activities (20%) All members must participate in fundraising and other activities (films, guest speakers, etc) held by the club.
