Professional Experience General Have worked a total of thirty-five years in manufacturing functions. Twenty-five of these years were spent working on Industrial Engineering/Project Management assignments including conducting Lean work measurements and Standard Work using MOST, MTM, USD, Group Timing Technique (GTT), Random Sampling, and Time Study, primarily in manufacturing operations, also distribution, fabrication, and clerical jobs, with related equipment evaluations and purchasing requirements. Expertise also includes Facilities Layout and Planning, Operations Analysis, Job Specification and Operations Standards Manual Development, SMED, 5S, Kaizen, Standard Work, Flow Diagrams, Value Stream Mapping, Ergonomics, TPM, Materials Engineering, Cost Development, and Job Evaluation. Maintained greige mill and warehouse labor standards and job manuals using MTM, MOST, Time Study, and Random Sampling Work Measurement techniques. Work measurement experience ranged from auditing existing jobs and manuals to studying and installing new jobs and processes, developing new job manuals, and assisting in developing training manuals. Used expertise in Excel to develop Weaver Job Specification Sheet that became corporate standard for all weaving. Developed Excel spreadsheet to automate drawing of Weaver Layouts to facilitate Weaving by capability. Measured and wrote Operations Standards Manuals for shuttle, air-jet, water-jet, and rapier weaving. Used Operations Analysis and Process Charting to optimize processes in manufacturing and warehousing Reconfigured processes in Twisting Dept. that yielded an 88% increase in machine output and significant improvement in quality, resulting in annual labor cost savings in excess of $200,000. Recommended weaving machine modification that yielded annual bottom line enhancement in excess of one million dollars through increased productivity, quality, and flexibility. Used PC skills to develop various sophisticated spreadsheets for use in Industrial Engineering and other departments. Developed Excel spreadsheet to automate application of MTM and MOST.
