The problem or area of interest that we are investigating: The Internet's effect on American youth sexuality and the implications toward liberalization of the youth culture. Discipline One: Communication

What kinds of questions does this discipline investigate? Communication studies the social practice of communication through a variety of lenses, including rhetorical, semiotic, cybernetic, sociocultural, sociopsychological, critical, and phenomenological (from Craigs 7 Traditions of Comm. Theory).

What kinds of questions does this discipline investigate? According to the American Sociological Association, sociology investigates how humans interact within social groups and organization. Sociology asks questions about how behavior is shaped by social factors such as race, gender, age, education, religion, family organization and many other factors. What kinds of questions do you think it asks about the problem you are investigating? Sociology might ask how youth develop attitudes about sexuality through their interactions on the internet. It may also ask what factors might make youth more or less likely to engage in risky sexual behavior online. Sociology might also explore how societal expectations

What kinds of questions do you think it asks about the problem you are investigating? For our question, communication asks what the sociopsychological and sociocultural effects are of internet technology on youth. Cybernetic communication can also apply questions about internet skills and youth culture,
