His tory • Robert Hook in 1665 discovered cell. He told that cork is made up of thin and small boxes .He named them cell. In 1838 & 1839 Bio Scientist M.J. Sheildon & T. swan gave a proposal that cell is a basic unit of all living organisms.
WH AT I S A CE LL? • All living things are made of cells. Cell is a basic unit of life. It is the smallest structure, which is capable of performing different life process such as -Taking in nutrients -Expelling waste -Reproducing
Types of Cells • Prokaryotic cell - They do not have proper nucleus. For example bacteria. • Eukaryotic cell - It has accurate nucleus. It has many cell organelles present in cytoplasm e.g. Mitochondria, Chloroplasts, Lysosome's, Endoplasmic reticulum.
Types of Eukaryotic Cells • Animal Cell
• Plants Cell
Animal cell have following parts:-
• Plasma membrane • Cytoplasm
1.Plasma membrane • Every cell is covered with soft, thin and living membrane.
2.Cytoplasm In between plasma membrane and nucleus one liquid is there which is called cytoplasmic matrix. In cytoplasm underwritten cell organelles float
Parts of Cell present in Cytoplasm 1. Endoplasmic reticulum
5. Lysosomes
2. Mitochondria
6. Centrosomes
3.Golgi apparatus
7. Vacuoles
4. Ribosome's
Plant cell have following parts:-
• Cell Wall
• Cytoplasm
• Cell WallA layer outside the plant cell is called cell wall. It is made up of cellulose . It is permeable . It gives the shape and security to cell.
Cytoplasm • Cytoplasm- It is jelly like liquid which is present in the cell . All the cellular activities are performed in it. Carbohydrates, protein, lipids and mineral are stored into it. Under written things are present in it. • Plastids :- These are of three types:(1) Chloroplasts (2) Chromoplast (3) Leucoplasts
Parts of cell present in Cytoplasm 1.Vacuoles • 5.Golgi Apparatus 2.Mitochondria • 6.Nucleus 3.Endoplasmic Reticulum 4.Ribosomes
Difference between plant cell and animal cell. PLANT CELL • Every plant cell has a cell wall made up of cellulose. • Plant cell has plastids. • Plant cell has a large size of vacuole. • Plant cell has no centrosome. • In plant cell food is stored in the form of starch.
Difference between plant cell and animal cell. ANIMAL CELL • Animal cell has no cell wall. It has a cell membrane. • Animal has no plastid. • Animal cell has small size of vacuole. • Animal cell has centrosome. • In animal cell food is stored in the form of Glycogen.
