Stative Verbs

My life has changed a lot in the past couple of years. Everything is turning out different than I expected. And this summer was no exception. Since I don’t have a “real job”, but I still have a lot of work to do, I can travel… or not. All I have to do is get my work done before leaving. Or I can work while travelling. But that’s not too much fun. Anyway, at the end of June I finished my book Inglés Coloquial. In July, I went to Santander with some Spanish friends. I stayed at my friend’s house in the center of Santander, and had a great time. For me, the most exciting part was that my friend’s mother made cocido montañés, one of my favorite foods. We also did some nice walks in the towns around Santander. I got a bit sunburned at the beach, but otherwise enjoyed the cool weather, the food and the beautiful landscapes. After a week in Santander, it was back to Madrid, and back to work! I wrote an ebook about all the different English verb tenses, which my lovely subscribers to Pasaporte al Inglés have received, and I made a bunch of videos. I passed a million views on my YouTube channel. And I finally published the softcover version of Inglés Coloquial on Amazon. Of course, summer is no excuse to stop working out. I continued going to boxing class in Parque Retiro, and I wrote an article about it too: Feeling the burn with Madrid for Refugees. I also spent a lot of time reading. I read almost every day, and I’m still trying to read a book every week. After a few weeks of work (and a bit of boredom because of the general lack of activity in Madrid) I was off to the Pyrenees! In this case, I was going to Vielha, a town in the mountains close to the French border. I had never been to the Pyrenees before, and I was excited to explore the mountains.

Mi vida ha cambiado mucho en los últimos años. Todo está saliendo diferente de lo que esperaba. Y este verano no fue una excepción. Como no tengo un "trabajo real", pero aún tengo mucho trabajo por hacer, puedo viajar ... o no. Todo lo que tengo que hacer es terminar mi trabajo antes de irme. O puedo trabajar mientras viajo. Pero eso no es demasiado divertido. De todos modos, a fines de junio terminé mi libro Inglés Coloquial.

En julio, fui a Santander con algunos amigos españoles. Me quedé en la casa de mi amigo en el centro de Santander y lo pasé muy bien. Para mí, la parte más emocionante fue que la madre de mi amigo hizo cocido montañés, uno de mis alimentos favoritos. También hicimos agradables paseos por las ciudades de Santander. Me quemó un poco el sol en la playa, pero disfruté del clima fresco, la comida y los hermosos paisajes. Después de una semana en Santander, ¡volvió a Madrid y volvió al trabajo! Escribí un ebook sobre todos los diferentes tiempos verbales en inglés, que mis adorables suscriptores de Pasaporte al Inglés han recibido, e hice un montón de videos. Pasé un millón de visitas en mi canal de YouTube. Y finalmente publiqué la versión de tapa blanda de Inglés Coloquial en Amazon. Por supuesto, el verano no es excusa para dejar de hacer ejercicio. Seguí yendo a la clase de boxeo en el Parque Retiro, y también escribí un artículo al respecto: Sintiendo la quemadura con Madrid por Refugiados. También pasé mucho tiempo leyendo. Leo casi todos los días e intento leer un libro todas las semanas. Después de algunas semanas de trabajo (y un poco de aburrimiento por la falta general de actividad en Madrid) ¡me fui a los Pirineos! En este caso, iba a Vielha, una ciudad en las montañas cerca de la frontera con Francia. Nunca antes había estado en los Pirineos, y estaba emocionado de explorar las montañas.
