A word from the Fathers…

Announcements • Last Sunday’s attendance was … souls, collection was …0.00 total. May our Lord God reward you abundantly for your generosity. • Yesterday, October 17th, we had our cleaning day at the church. We were able to vacuum and dust the church, organize the gift shop (now you can see what everything we have in there), clean the freezer, pick up downstairs in the bar area and in the hall. This past week we put new carpet in the office, also the ladies bathroom has a new floor. I would like to thank to all who participated in the cleaning day: the Jansen family, the Baker family, Gene Ford, Margaret Desserault and the Schneider family. Thank you for helping. God bless you. We are still working on setting up a children’s playroom in the “theater” area. If you have items that you’d like to share—such as puzzles, games, etceteras— please bring them next week, October 18th. Please remember all of our benefactors in your prayers; I will also be offering the Divine Liturgy for each of them, and for all of their special intentions. • WE NEED YOUR HELP! We would like to raise funds for our parish in the “Christmas around the world” event, on November 14th 2009, which also happens to be the Feast of St. Philip the Apostle! Please reserve that

day. Beforehand, we will need people to transport the items and baked goods, etc. to the hall, and to set-up. During the event, we will need people to take shifts working at the booth. Also, if you have any items you would be willing to make or donate, especially baked goods or Christmas crafts, please do so. They can be stored at the church if you do not have room at home. Also, for health reasons all items of food should be wrapped securely. If you can help, please contact Margaret Dean or Elizabeth Baker.
