Good morning to the respected teachers and my dear friends. As we all know the reason of nice gathering here in such a huge crowd. We are here to celebrate Teacher’s day today and to give them our heartily tribute for their hard efforts. Today is 5thof September and at this day we celebrate teachers day every year with lots of joy, happiness and enthusiasm. In India, teachers day is also known as Teachers' Appreciation Day or National Teacher's Day celebrated by the students on 5th of September every year. It is the birth anniversary of the Dr. Sarvepalli Radhakrishan. His birth date is being celebrated as teachers day every year from the time when he became President of India in 1962 after the students request. India has produced great saints, philosophers, intellectuals, teachers, scientists, politicians, religious gurus and others from time to time. But rarely has there been a person of the caliber of Dr. Radhakrishnan who was a teacher, philosopher, diplomat, interpreter of eastern and western philosophy, Chairman of the Rajya Sabha, Vice-President and President of India, all in one in various stages of his life. He was an intellectual par excellence. Radhakrishnan had been a distinguished diplomatist, a perceptive thinker, a gifted teacher, a far-sighted educationist and a widely-read author. We are indebted to him for his fine representation for our true culture and for interpreting and extending to the world the spiritual thought of India. It was the good fortune of our country that we had Dr. Sarvepalli Radhakrishnan as the first Vice.President and the second President. e brought to these offices for a decade and a half, a rare dignity by his great international reputation as a scholar, author, philosopher and academician. He combined in himself the qualities of a Aristotle , a Cicero and a Plato. Yet he was full of humility, milk of human kindness and a charm very rare to find. There have been few men of his stature in India and none in politics. We have had persons in high offices who were high in one field or another but there never was one like him and perhaps will never be. We of the'older generation were fortunate to have known him in person. 5th of September is celebrated as Teachers’ Day all over the India every year. Actually 5th of September is the birth anniversary of the Dr. Sarvepalli Radhakrishnan, who was a great scholar and teacher. In his later life first he became the Vice President of Indian republic and then the President of Indian republic. Students all across the country observe this day to pay respect to their teachers. It is truly said that teachers are like back bone of our society. They play a great role in building up the characters of students and shape them to become an ideal citizens of India. Teachers teach students very carefully and sincerely just like their own children. It is well said that teachers are great than the parents. Parents give birth to a child whereas teachers shape his/her character and make future bright. Thus we never forget and ignore them, we always respect and love them. Our parents are responsible for giving us love and quality care however our teachers are responsible for making whole future bright and successful. They let us know the importance of education in our life through their continuous efforts. They are the source of

inspiration to us which help us to go ahead and get success. They motivate us towards study by giving examples of great personalities all over the world. They make us so strong and prepare to withstand any obstacle of the life. They become full of immense knowledge and wisdom using which they nourish our lives. Teachers really play key roles towards the education and student’s life. For all students of India, Teachers’ Day is like an occasion and opportunity to pay tribute and gratitude to their teachers for their continuous, selfless and precious efforts in shaping the future. The teachers inspire us to proceed forward, to build our ethics and prepare us to withstand obstacles of our life. The teacher also imparts immense knowledge and wisdom in our lives. The teachers teach students most carefully and sincerely and love them as their own children. We owe them more than our parents. Our parents bring us up and give us food and drink for our survival, but teachers arouse our hearts with light of knowledge and remove all sorts of ignorance.“According to Brad Henry, “A good teacher can inspire hope, ignite the imagination, and instill a love of learning.”Come on my dear friends, say together that ‘our respected teachers we are always grateful to you for all you do to us’. My dear friends we should always obey our teachers orders and follow their advice to be the worthy citizens of India.
