PREAMBLE We the members of the Spartans: MILSIM/Scenario Paintball Team, hereto after referred to as the Spartans, have created this team in order to improve ourselves as players and as a team. We have created this team to ensure that are constantly challenged by the games we play and the teams that we play with andagainst. We feel it is our duty to not only challenge ourselves but to make sure that we are also educators of safety, fair play, and good sportsmanship. These by laws are designed to guide the Spartans in accomplishing the items mentioned above. SPARTANS: MILSIM/Scenario Paintball Team By Laws and Code of Conduct

ARTICLE 1. MEMBERSHIP 1-A. Membership Requirements: In order to become a member of the Spartans, an individual must complete the following: • • • • • • • • •

Must be 13 years old or older. Must complete the Spartans Membership Application Form. Must agree to pay the Spartan Application Fee. Must volunteer to attend the Spartans Agoge (Basic) training. Must register on the forum at www.cagpaintball.darkbb.com within the first thirty days of joining the team. Must post on the team forum at least once a month. Must attend team field and on-line training regularly. Must complete all on-line training assignments. Must volunteer to train in one of the four basic Spartan duty positions as follows; ○ Spartan Weapons Sergeant ○ Spartan Engineering Sergeant ○ Spartan Medical Sergeant ○ Spartan Communications Sergeant

1-B. Membership Fees: This article outlines all of the membership fees on the Spartans. The moneys collected will assist the Spartans in the purchase of equipment needed, as determined by the team council, uniforms, patches, hats, and other items the council deems necessary. Those fees are as follows: • • •

Application Fee: $10.00 Monthly Membership Fee: $5.00 T-Shirt Fee: $25.00

ARTICLE 2. ORGANIZATION 2-A. The Commander: The duties of the commander are outlined in Annex B of the Spartans Standing Operating Procedures. The Commander’s primary administrative duties include locating a home paintball field, scheduling team practices, events, and functions, locating andsoliciting sponsors, and approving the team budget. The Commander must provide oversight and supervision of all Spartans and ensure the policies of the team are followed. 2-B. The Executive Officer:The duties of the Executive Officer, hereto after referred to as the XO, are outlined in Annex B of the Spartans Standing Operating SPARTANS: MILSIM/Scenario Paintball Team By Laws and Code of Conduct

The XO’s primary administrative duties include assisting the Commander in all of his/her duties, establishing a team budget, and maintaining accountability of all team equipment. 2-C. The Treasurer: The duties of the treasurer is to maintain accountability of all team funds collected through either member fees, application fees, and other means. It is the duty of the treasurer to advise the XO on the team budget . 2-D. The Recorder:The duties of the recorder are to keep the minutes of all team business meetings and council meetings. 2-E. The Council: The Spartan Council is the legislative, judiciary, and business decision making body of the Spartans. It is the duty of the Council to establish a code of conduct, rules of engagement for non-sanctioned scrimages, and membership requirements. The Council is responsible for promoting members or demoting members as necessary. It is the responsibility of the Council to deliberate on all punitive actions needed to be taken.

ARTICLE 3. THE PHALANX 3-A. General: The Phalanx is the name of the 12-man unit of the Spartans which occupies the playing field. Each Phalanx within the Spartans is designed to be self contained, self supported, and self sustained. Each Phalanx is independently operated. They are only answerable to the Council on matters pertaining to the accomplishment of the Spartan Mission of education. 3-B. Roles of the Phalanx Members: The Roles of the Phalanx members are outlined in Annex B of the Spartans Standard Operating Procedures. 3-C. Creation of a New Phalanx: If a team desires to become a new Spartan Phalanx or if a former member wishes to create a new Phalanxthey must submit their request through the Spartan council. Once the Spartan Council has granted approval to the request a parent phalanx will be assigned to assist the new phalanx in establishing itself. It will provide the new phalanx with provisional standard operating procedures, by laws, code of conduct, and training program. The new phalanx will remain under the control and leadership of the Parent phalanx until the Spartan Council officially activates the new phalanx. 3-D. Activation of New Phalanx: Once a new phalanx has established its own standard operating procedures, by laws, code of conduct, and training program, and has reached sixty-six percent man power the Council officially activate the phalanx. Upon this activation and not before will the new phalanx receive their full autonomy.

ARTICLE 4. AMENDMENTS 4-A. Voting on Amendments: When an Amendment recommendation has been submitted to the council, the Commander will convene the council and open the SPARTANS: MILSIM/Scenario Paintball Team By Laws and Code of Conduct

SPARTANS: MILSIM/Scenario Paintball Team By Laws and Code of Conduct floor for discussion and debate on the issue needed to be addressed. Upon the completion of the debate the commander will call the council to a vote. To pass an amendment the votes must account for 2/3 of the vote in favor of the amendment.
