San Pasqual Academy English 9 and 10 - Ms. Priester Quotation Quilt
Purpose: Quilts are made of pieces of cloth that are meaningful to the quilter. Using quotations, instead of pieces of cloth, create a square of a quilt that is meaningful to you. We will join all of the pieces of cloth together to create one quilt. 1. Search for inspirational quotations online. I recommend that you use at least a few of the following quotation websites. a. http://www.quotationspage.com/ b. http://www.quoteland.com/ c. http://www.bartleby.com/quotations/ 2. Find quotations that: a. reveal your character b. inspire you to be a better person or understand things on a deeper level c. are meaningful to you and relevant to your life d. are appropriate for school (Duh!)
3. Copy at least ten quotations below. Remember to write the author, and use correct spelling. example: “A woman without a man is like a fish without a bicycle.” – Gloria Steinem
4. Recopy eight of the quotes onto the quilt square on the paper attached to this one. Use: a. bold, easy to read writing b. neat handwriting (creativity is suggested, but keep the upper and lower case letters in the correct places) c. color (as background or ink) d. correct spelling and punctuation 8/29/2008
