Something is Fishy
By: Shaun Cross
It is a sunny day in Pickens. It is noon and George is going home for lunch. He walks in and throws his coat over to the right expecting it to land on a giant fish head. He hears it hit the floor so he looks over. All he can see is a big hole with the fish head was.
He initially thought that Joe had stolen it since he has a key. He dashed across the street to Joe’s house and pounded on the door and George yelled, “You stole my fish head!” Joe then calmly replied, “No I didn’t.” “Then where is it?” “I know it didn’t grow legs and walk out the door,” George said as he was calming down.
“Did you check your basement for the other one?” Joe questioned. “No,” George said as he rushed out the door. When he got home, he found that the basement door was still locked. He turned on the light and ran down the stairs. He was going so fast he didn’t see the metal bar. He fell right on top of the cloaked fish head and ruptured it. When he got up he realized this one was made out of foam. The other one was made out of glass. He wondered what the bars were that he was sitting on top of. “Joe, I think this is gold,” he said as he was getting excited
“You have my permission to steal the fish head, but only the fish head,” George replied. Joe began his mission and George went outside, started his truck, and began to drive around to see if he could find it. It wasn’t ten minutes later and George’s phone rang. It was Joe. “Did you find it?” George asked anxiously.
“You have to have a special key,” George interrupted. “Open its mouth and you should see a small hole. Take this key and use it to open it.” “Thank you, you have been a big help,” the strange voice said. Then it said, “Let them go.” “Run Joe!” George shouted. “Don’t worry about that,” Joe replied. “Is there any reason to run other than getting away from them?”
“Yes it can.
There could be more gold bars in these fish heads,” George said hopefully. When the fish heads got inside, George scribbled his signature on the form. They carefully opened them and there was gold in one of them.
The other one had something, but not something good. It was a bomb with a variety of colored wires. There was thirty minutes left on the timer. They quickly called the bomb squad, and by the time they got there, the timer was down to two minutes. The bomb squad rushed inside and told George and Joe to go outside and wait. Now there is only thirty seconds left. After about one minute, they didn’t hear an explosion. The bomb had been deactivated.
