Introduction
I.
a. Barangay (setting) Solid waste is any discarded materials which presents many serious environmental and public health problems and risks. A material is discarded if it is abandoned by being disposed of, burned, dumped or spilled. This can cause many problems
to
our
environment
which
may
affect
our
daily
lifestyle. Barangay Binuntucan is one of the barangay in the municipality of Pontevedra which has a large number of population. In this regard, there is also a high tendency that this barangay produces great amount of of solid waste every day. According to Phil. atlas 2019, this barangay has the population of 4, 737 as determined by the 2015 census. This
represented
Pontevedra.

at
approximately 11.4258, 122.8638, in the Island of Panay. It shares
a
Hipona,
common
border
Jolongajog,
with
Cabungahan,
the
following
New
barangays:
Guia
Maayon,
is
solid
and
Yatingan.
b. Date In
order
to
determine
if
there
a
management program that had exist or exiting in the
waste
barangay of Binuntucan, I have conducted an interview for
me
to
know
what
are
some
of
their
practices
and
programs vis-a-vis solid waste management. Last February 26, 2019, i have conducted the interview with some of their barangay officials. I have asked them questions and other concerns about the solid waste management program.
c. Persons involved During the interview, I have given the chance to asked their barangay captain and at the same time, their barangay kagawad same is through with some of the people in the barangay.
d. Purpose of the Interview Solid waste management program is one remedy in order to ensure that the solid waste is managed in such a way that protects both public health and environment. It is also a step for each people in the community to make an action to help the rehabilitation of the natural resources in our environment. It is program that had brought a great help in the community, especially in the barangays. This will also educate them about the things and plans that they should do to aid one of the major problem of the community, the solid waste. This program had also served as a guide to people who are involved in the barangay to be responsible and to be aware of the duty that they should do to help
enrich our environment. The main objective of the interview is to determine if there are plans or programs that exist or had existed in the community regarding the solid waste.

1. Is there a Solid waste management program that exists in your Barangay? “Yanda, wala pa kami sang muna nga program sa amon nga naka segregate gid sang amon mga basura diri. Ang mga tawo diri sa amon, sila man mismo ang naga himos sang ila mga basura sa ila mga balay. And iban sa ila naga kutkot sang buho sa likod sang ila balay kung sa diin nila gina haboy ang ila basura” “As of now, we do not have such program in our barangay. pumuluyo.” “For me, to lessen the solid waste that we have in our barangay, it is necessary that the residents will also participate in this kind of activity.” 6. III. Conclusions Based on the interview which was conducted, Barangay Binuntucan
is
a
barangay
which
do
not
have
a present
program in regards with solid waste management. However, they have done simple steps in order to help and to lessen some
of
the
problems
vis-a-vis
solid
waste
management
program. They have green and green programs, trash cans that would segregate their waste and they also try to encourage their people to join them in rehabilitating and maintaining the community that they have.
IV. Recommendations Based on the interview that was conducted, the following recommendations are stated below; 1. The Barangay officials must plan out a blueprint of the actions and other concerns that they will do in order to improve their community. 2. The leaders of the community must educate and encourage their
people
to
join
to
their
activity
that
will
enhance the community’s amenities. 3. The people of the community must cooperate and support the programs of their barangay.
4. The officials of the barangay can make a great impact on their community to enhance and rehabilitate it by doing the first step within themselves.
