PROGRAMME /PROJECT PROGRESS School Development Projects 01. In cooperation with college Christian teachers’ Association Alumni Association Batticaloa supported to organized a “Oli Vizha ‘ event at College.

Oli Vizha support – Alumni Association Rs.15, 000/, Mr. Sylvester + Some Michaelites Rs. 6,000/

02. Organizing meetings with College management and both (College & Alumni Association Batticaloa) agreed to collaborate with college future events’ planning. (On Going from July 2009) 03. A paid sanitary labour was appointed to the junior school. (On Going from June 2009) 04. College chemistry laboratory repair work is underway. Work stared on 05/12/2009

Sports Development Activities Basket Ball 05. Payment for SMC Basket Ball coach. (On Going from April 2009) Project Sponsored by Canada branch implemented by the SMC Alumni Association Batticaloa 2009/2010 06. A Facilitation team appointed including Alumni Association, Zonal Education Department, School Development Society and School management to facilitated The existing basketball court repairs coordinated by the Alumni Association together with the Contractor to have the smooth finishing of this project.

Capacity Building Activities of College Band 07. Payments for Mr.Jeevam Joseph. (On Going from May 2009) Project Sponsored by the SMC Alumni Association Australian Branch implemented by School Development Society, Monitored by the Alumni Association Batticaloa 2009. 08. Australian branch donated Rs.150, 000 to purchase band equipment to the College. Quotations are called for purchasing the equipment.

Empowerment and Welfare of Michaelites 09. Next year project planning meeting held on 21/11/2009 @ Bridge view hotel. 10. Annual year end get together organized by a special team, event will be held on 19/12/2009 at Devanayagam hall Arasady Batticaloa. Funds collected among the Committee members 2009/2010 Rs.150, 000/

Fund raising St.Michael’s College Alumni Association Printed Caps with SMC’s visibility. Each cap is sold for Rs. 500/and the entire collection will be utilized for the development of the school.

Administration Activities/Projects #. SMC Alumni Association Batticaloa Life Membership Database Online #. SMC Alumni Association Batticaloa introducing a new Life Membership card for all life members. #. Committee member Michaelite Mr.S.R.Harane created a face book page for Alumni Association.

Up coming events #. Annual year end get together on 19th December 2009 at Devanayagam Hall, Arasady Batticaloa #. Repairing/Repainting of St.Michael’s Auditorium.( December – March) #. Planning to construct a monument of late Rev.Fr.H.J.Weber at bust level in the Weber stadium.
