Summary of the Lesson
Students will learn the components that are related to lesson preparation and building background. I will explain some strategies used to help ELL students. Throughout the lesson there will be questions for the students. They will be asked to use the information they learned and answer questions.
Standards:
Standard - CC.8.5.9-10.B Determine the central ideas or information of a primary or secondary source; provide an accurate summary of how key events or ideas develop over the course of the text.
Standard - ELP.2.L.9-12.3 Proficiency Level: Developing Form general ideas based on information from speakers or media within a small group.
Standard - ELP.2.L.9-12.4
Proficiency Level: Expanding Analyze and apply information from speakers or media working with a partner.
Essential Questions
What is Lesson Preparation? What are ways we can adapt content? What is Building background? What are ways we can help students understand key vocabulary?
Objectives Students of the college ELL class will be able to 1. Summarize lesson prep and building background. 2. List strategies for adapting content and key vocaulary 3. Explain how the strategies would help ELL students After 50 minute lecture with 80% accuracy.

Procedure
BEFORE:. -When students walk in the classroom there will be a the objectives written on the board DURING: -First I will explain what the SIOP model is. -Next I will explain what components are related to lesson preparation . I will ask the students questions and try to draw on their prior knowledge -I will ask the students to share their thoughts. -I will do the same when explaining building backgrounds · I will ask if they have any questions or concerns. AFTER: I will ask the students 2 questions at the end of the lesson to see if the objectives were met.
