Gauge= 4 stitches per inch, in garter stitch on size 8 needles. Needs – 3 to 4 ounces worsted weight yarn, size 8 needles, yarn needle. Cast on 32 stitches onto 8 inch needles, circular, straight or double point. Knit back and forth for 19 garter ridges. (A garter ridge = 2 rows of knitting.) Bring yarn to front, as if to purl, before slipping the last stitch of each row. Decrease row – knit one, ssk, knit to last three stitches, k2tog, bring yarn to front, slip last stitch. Decrease on the odd rows (front) knit the even rows (back). Repeat until you have four stitches remaining. K2tog twice, turn, k2tog, make loop, Break off 24” of yarn, pull through loop. Repeat twice more, making three units. Starting at the bottom (square end) of one unit, pick up each stitch along the edge, all the way to the point of the triangle. Repeat on one other unit. Placing the needles parallel to each-other, perform a three needle bind off, using the long tail to knit. Pick up stitches along a free edge, and the stitches along the remaining unit, and join together, being careful to keep the seam on the correct side. Repeat once more, picking up the stitches on the un-joined edges. Decide which side you like better before weaving in the loose ends. Enjoy!
