Shrinking Mimsy’s Crocodile Hat Gauge= 4 stitches per inch on size 8- 16” circular needle for an approximately 20” circumference hat, Needs – 3 to 4 ounces worsted weight yarn, size 8 circular and double point needles, stitch marker, yarn needle. Using 16” circular needle, cast on 76 stitches, join stitches without twisting. Place marker. Crocodile Pattern: Rows one through six: K4, P2 repeat to end Rows seven and eight: P4, K2 repeat to end. Repeat this pattern 6 times. Decrease set up round: Purl one row, increasing 4 stitches evenly around for a total of 80 stitches. (I prefer the purl front and back method.) Decrease row one: Knit 6, K2tog around Decrease row two: Knit Decrease row three: Knit 5, k2tog around Decrease row four: Knit Decrease row five: Knit 4, k2tog around Decrease row six: Knit (change to double points as necessary) Decrease row seven Knit 3, k2tog around Decrease row eight: Knit 2, k2tog around Decrease row nine: Knit 1, k2tog around Decrease row ten: K2tog around Break off yarn, leaving 10 inch tail.
