SUBMISSION GUIDELINES “Short-Take!” The New TV Show For Short Attention Span Viewing, Celebrating The Independent and Undiscovered Short Film Maker is Now accepting Short Film submissions.

Selected shorts will have their film exhibited on "Short-Take!," the upcoming TV show series airing on Vallejo VCAT Channel 27, Berkeley Community Media Cable Channel 28; including submissions for syndication, and community access stations throughout the country. No pay. Full credit. Selected local submitters will also have an opportunity to appear as a guest on the show, however submissions are welcomed from throughout the world. This is a great portfolio building opportunity to have your shorts viewed on television networks. Show producer, Jacalyn Evone Robinson, current Executive Producer of TalkAbout-TV, has produced local TV programming for 6 years, and co-producer, Lisa Smith-Bryant, writer/producer/director.

All genres of film will be accepted for review including animation and experimental. Please do not submit X-rated or Adult content materials. Student films welcomed. All student films must be completed by students, with professors in advisory capacity only. All student submissions be produced, directed, and shot by students. All films must be in English or submitted with on screen English subtitles. We cannot screen or air films that are not in English if they do not include English subtitles. Maximum length of submission is 15 minutes (or less). The show will be an hour long format, and the shorter the shorts, the more interesting the format, allowing for a greater range of submissions to be presented to our audience for a unique viewing experience. You must own or obtain all rights necessary including music rights in order to grant ShortTake, and/or its assigns, license to broadcast your film on public television, syndication, and/or to be shown on the Short-Take internet website. You must clear all copyrighted material before submission. We, nor any of the public access stations,or community television stations or networks,not be held liable or responsible for any inclusion of uncleared materials in your film, this includes stock footage, music or any element that could violate copyright infringements. No film will be aired without all appropriate documentation.









Image release must be submitted for all actors in your film. All films submitted to Filmed N Color, Inc., or selected for airing on the show Short-Take and/or the Short-Take website become the "physical" property of the show Short-Take!, and its producers, however all submissions remain under the copyright jurisdiction of the owner/creator of the film. All film submissions are solely for the purposes outlined herein, and shall not be used by Short-Take!, its producers and/or directors, Filmed N Color, Inc and/or Linx2Linx Communications, Inc. for any other purpose except outlined herein without the expressed written permission of the owner of the film. Films should be submitted on single DVD-R or DVD+R disc. Please ensure that your disc plays in a standard DVD player before you submit to us. If you submit in both Blu-Ray and HD-DVD formats, or dual layer discs, you need to submit a single-layer DVD-R or DVD +R as a backup. Entries MUST be submitted on NTSC or all-region DVD. No other format will be accepted. VHS tapes are not accepted. Retain a master copy for your records. DVDs are not returned. DO NOT send your only copy.

You may submit short film that has been previously broadcast on local affiliate stations such as a local PBS station or television, and have appeared outside of the northern California San Francisco bay area. While films may have had a limited online viewing, we would prefer however not to see the films posted on YouTube or the web in order to present a fresh format to our viewers. Short Films may also have screened at festivals and still qualify for viewing on the television show “Short-Take!” The deadline for submissions is ongoing. You may submit multiple projects, however each must be submitted with separate submission form and ALL required entry materials, and should be substantially different than previous submission. All submissions are handled equally and fairly. The show format “Short-Take” is being designed to appeal to a general viewing audience, and will air during a variety of viewing hours, airing several times throughout the month; therefore, X-rated or adult content is strictly forbidden. Any DVD submissions deemed distasteful (X-rated,adult content,foul language) by the reviewing organization will be destroyed.

A show marketing campaign will be initiated, with invites to film industry representatives for private screenings, which will mean a lot of exposure opportunities. We encourage you to submit early and frequently in order to get in on the ground floor of this exciting new television show. Please return page 5 of this document, along with Film Submission Form, and licensing agreement.. Please include a filmmaker bio, and one representative still image, so that we

can give on air credit and background on you to our viewers. Is There A Submission Fee? A submission fee is required to cover the cost of film screening services handled solely through Filmed N Color, Inc. Portions of the production of "Short-Take!" may take place at the VCAT studios, in any event, Filmed N Color will donate 50% of each submission fee to VCAT. Vallejo Community Access Television Station (VCAT), a non-profit organization in partnership with the City of Vallejo, the Vallejo City Unified School District, and Solano Community College. Filmed N Color, Inc. and Linx2Linx Communications Inc, are not affiliated with VCAT, nor are they employees of VCAT. Please submit your fee with your completed submission agreement and filmmakers bio. We do not respond to submissions. If you need confirmation of delivery, you will need to arrange for confirmation of delivery through your mail service provider; or you may include a selfaddressed, stamped postcard which will be dropped in the mail as your proof of our receipt. We are not responsible for postcards that do not include correct postage and/or undeliverable for any reason. Our goal is to showcase the artistic talents of films produced, directed or written by women, independent and undiscovered filmmakers; however, "Short-Take!" is open to all who wish to participate. Men, women, youth, novice and professionals may submit. We seek skillfully crafted and adventurous ideas. You may complete your submission form online, however do not deliver your submission materials until you have completed your online entry. Be sure to use the same name on your online submission that you use in your submission packet. Payment may be made by check, money order,bank cashier or certified,be made in US dollars only. Checks or money orders (in US Dollars only, from a US bank) should be made payable to: Filmed N Color,. Do not send cash. Print your name and film title clearly on all checks or money orders. Shipping cost is the sole responsibility of the sender. To protect your DVD, we suggest shipping your DVDs in a bubble-pack styled envelope. We maintain no responsibility for damages incurred during shipping.

Submit all entries from outside of the US by Air Mail Registration or by an express or parcel service. We will not accept entries shipped via air-freight if customs and delivery charges have not been paid. DVDs will not be returned. Do not include prepaid return envelopes for the return of DVD submissions. All submission must include ALL Completed Application Forms. All Submission must be received via mail only.
