This is your opportunity to show what you have learned this year in terms of COMPOSITION (size, view, and placement). Using any material and theme we have explored this year complete an artwork that includes at least one shoe as part of the composition. It should be completed using an entire 18” X 24” paper, it does not have to remain as one piece. You must complete 2 thumbnail drawings first on the back.

Choose one STYLE (perceptual, expressive, non-objective) and one ART CONCEPT (pos./neg. space, proportion, narrative, gesture, etc.) to use in completing your shoe artwork. Portfolio: cut paper cropping & zooming positive/negative space Shape & Value: conté, charcoal, tempera, paper drawing without using line, only value

This is part of your final exam, its grade will be part of your exam grade.

Draw What You See: pencil observational drawing focusing on form and light Expressive Explorations: mixed media expressive storytelling about a personal object Pieces of Personality Sculpture: paper and cardboard sculpture, tempera paint non-objective representation of your personality 3-D form and space Multiple Exposures: crayon, charcoal gesture drawing showing movement and gesture Self-Portrait from Somewhere Else: pencil and mixed media portraiture, proportion research expressive or perceptual environment Expressive Text Stencil: stencil, spray paint positive/negative space expressively represent the meaning of a word typography
