Making Virginia Safer Protecting Virginia’s Children Steve Shannon is the leader in the General Assembly on issues of child protection. As Delegate, he worked with law enforcement to write the law that helps police protect children who are victims of violence. His law has become a model for states across the country.

Created AMBER Alert System Shannon helped create Northern Virginia’s AMBER Alert System and served on the Governor’s Commission on Sexual Violence.

Cracking Down on Internet Predators As Attorney General, Shannon will crack down on child pornography and predators who go after children on the Internet.

Prosecuting Criminals As a criminal prosecutor, Shannon tried cases of corruption, assault, rape, child molestation, and domestic violence. That’s why he has the support of law enforcement officers and prosecutors throughout Virginia.

Stopping Gang Violence As Attorney General, Shannon will attack gang violence with a statewide plan that brings together prosecutors and police to break up gangs, stop gang recruitment and activity in schools, and put gang members in jail.
