Think… Sex. Scandal. Immorality. As years would pass, no matter what you do, you will never escape change. Just like death, it will find you when your time comes. Unfortunately, change isn’t always good. Generation after generation, we have seen the changes brought to us by our continuously growing society. Do you still see children who play with kites? No. Instead, you see them playing with gadgets. Technology allows us to see how far we have grown. From scraps, here we are now, living the luxurious, upgraded life we always dreamed of. We no longer use newspapers or telephones to communicate or be updated, but instead, we use social media. Yes, it is a good thing. However, the thing about us humans is that we all have this common nature of not being contented. Once we get what we have, we yearn to desire more – which is the reason why we tend to abuse things. In the first place, social media was meant to be a platform to create new friends, build relationships, and bear current events. Nevertheless, we abused its purpose. People started sharing forms of fraud, abuse, and even pornography. Speaking of such, many have been quite disturbed lately about the viral videos of students engaging in sex scandals. Not only here within our place, but also from all over the archipelago. The saddest part about such videos are the fact that most of them are in their school uniforms and are bringing the name of their Alma Maters. As members of the youth, and as students of a Catholic institution, we must learn the value of self-control and flee ourselves away from such immoral doings. Young as we are, we must be able to take control of our own emotions. Think of your parents, the people who support you, would they be proud to see that you are a part of an immoral act? I believe not. Think of your purity as a diamond in the rough. Would you be willing to easily give it away to anyone? Or would you keep it to share for the perfect person? Engaging in such acts may give you pleasure at first, but think of the outcomes. What would be its effect towards the lives of you and your partner? Rushing things will never give you your desired outcome, so learn to wait and enjoy life as it is. Remember, regret will always be with you throughout your entire lifetime. Think about it.
