EMPLOYMENT Office of U.S. Senator John Kerry November 2004 to March 2009 Deputy State Director and Massachusetts Communications Director • Managed all business constituent issues and served as Senator Kerry’s business outreach and economic development representative for the State of Massachusetts. • Point person for all Federal assistance to Uxbridge Mill fire. • Established and directed Senator Kerry’s annual statewide procurement conferences that aim to expand contracting opportunities with large private corporations and the federal government for small businesses in the State of Massachusetts. • Responsible for managing overall operations of State office including press and communications. • Served as advisor to the Senator on a variety of state and national issues. Senior Advisor and Press Secretary for Senator John F. Kerry • Responsible for managing all media and press for Senator Kerry. • Served as primary spokesperson for the state of Massachusetts. • Served as advisor to the Senator on a variety of state and national issues. Kerry for President October 2003 to November 2004 National Trip Director • Traveled with Presidential candidate Senator John Kerry full time. • Managed Senator Kerry’s schedule and all aspects of his national trips, including press, politics, and all events related to his presidential campaign. Boston College June 2001 to October 2003 Assistant Director of Leadership Gifts for Boston College • Planned and coordinated strategy for Boston College’s $400 million campaign. • Represented Boston College at high level events • Managed a portfolio of multimillion-dollar donors. Federal Emergency Management Agency March 2000* to January 2001 Regional Director – New England • Supervised 75 full-time civil servants, 400 reservists, an operating budget of $75 million and millions of dollars of emergency aid to New England. • Established and maintained a regional strategy to manage major hazards, terrorist response and emergency management systems of preparedness. • Implemented individual performance plans that resulted in substantial improvement in turnaround time for distribution of emergency funds. *Announced in December 1999, Appointment Official in March 2000 White House Office of Cabinet Affairs, Washington D.C. May 1999 to March 2000 Special Assistant to the Cabinet Secretary • Served as liaison to the Departments of Treasury, Housing and Urban Development and Justice for the White House Office of Cabinet Affairs. • Developed strategies for communicating the Clinton administration's budget, issues and policy to Congress, the press and the public.

Clinton White House February 1996 to May 1999 White House Advance Office (February 1996-January 1997, February 1998-May 1999) Associate Director of Advance • Coordinated and supervised staff to prepare for visits by the President of the United States and the First Lady both domestically and internationally. • Worked closely with U.S. Secret Service, Diplomatic Corps, the military and their counterparts in different parts of the World. • Responsibilities included briefing the President and First Lady and assisting in communicating their message to the public and press. White House Social Office (February 1997 to January 1998) White House Events Coordinator • Scheduled, planned and executed events at the White House including the 1997 Budget Agreement, the China State Dinner and numerous press conferences. Development And Training Associates September 1990 to January 1996 Training Coordinator • Worked as a consultant to Bechtel Parsons Brinkerhloff, with responsibility for designing and implementing on the job training (OJT) activities for low-income adults at world-class engineering and construction companies working on the Central Artery Tunnel Project. 78% of those completing OJT were able to maintain permanent jobs in the companies they trained with. 85% went on to college.
