Sergio Cruz Rodriguez - Personal Statement

Personal statement One sunny and cloudy day I was playing outside with my little brother and my baby brother. We were playing pirates on my dad’s Volkswagen Golf, and we were just having fun while waiting for my aunt to cook us some breakfast. I can smell something really delicious my aunt was cooking. She was cooking some sausage with eggs and the time was most likely to be 10 in the morning so we had just woke up. So me and my brother were on the car playing pirates and were hopping on it and stuff but then I miss and hit the top corner of the door and had cut the side of my ribs. I was just stuck there and couldn't breath and remember telling my brother not to tell my aunt because she was probably going to get mad. And so, my brother rushes in and tell my aunt that I am bleeding from my side and my mom just happens to pull in and see that im bleeding. I instantly starts crying and so she and my aunt rush and help me get to the hospital. I remember everything going black and then i kept telling my mom that if I was going to die and she never responded to me so I was just like in shocked . my aunt had adjusted pressure to my side from where I was bleeding and I started screaming and as soon as we got to the downtown hospital my mom carries me all the way to the emergency room. They immediately take me in a room and did all types of things to me I think they put some type of alcohol jelly on it and it burned really bad. I felt like I was going to die and I was wide awake they never put me to sleep or anything I just felt the worse pain. So after that I woke up looking at all the people that came to visit and stuff and they also brought gift, I had told myself I thought I was going to die today I felt very weak when I tried to walk and I felt like I couldn't move my body cause it will mess up my healing and I was very thankful for my brother and my mom and aunt to help me be here where I am, cause without them I wouldn't be here I was in life endangerment and could've died

so they are very special to me and I will always respect them cause they are my lifesavers. What changed me was this in wouldn't think this would happen to me cause I always try to play it safe. but it was meant to happen to me to teach me a listen that things can happen in seconds and change the way you live. As soon as I recovered I promised to do and will do good in life and try to do good in school too. The lesson is be careful cause anything can happen when you are distracted.
