There's not much to say about me. I'm just a girl trying to follow her dreams, hoping life takes me on a path to success. Ever since middle school, I had thoughts on what my future would hold. Middle school is where our young teenage years start. Middle school is the start of either a bright successful future or not. Middle school is where you end up joining clubs and sports. In my case it was sports, soccer has always been played in my family, my brother would play with my father when my father was with us. I have always wanted to make my mom and brother proud. I have even taken certain risks in order to accomplish that. Something I will never forget happened when I was in middle school. It was shocking and the best feeling to me. I had worked and practiced so much. No breaks after school and during the weekends became my routine. I played with family and friends and I became so good at it. I wasn't going to miss such a great opportunity to prove to my family that I was capable of more. A couple of weeks passed, the day I had waited for the longest had finally arrived. I remember that day so perfectly, I was so nervous that even my palms were sweaty. I felt myself lightly shivering. I had tried so hard for this moment. I tried to not show how nervous I was but I think it was still noticeable. Soccer tryouts began and of course, I wasn't the only one there. Many girls were performing their best tricks and showing their skills. I could only see and hope I did good and made it into the team. I said to myself “I got this” and when it was my turn to show everyone I gave it my all with no hesitation. I showed them how hard I had been practicing for weeks nonstop. I showed them how passionate I was for this sport. All I could think of at the moment was how proud my family would be if I made it in the team.

A couple days later & i heard my name in the intercom along with others who made the team. I’ve been waiting for this day & I could finally be sure of how proud everyone would be of me. As soon as I got home I ran to my brother and told him the good news, he always knew I was capable of more. My brother hugged me so tight and told me he was proud of his little sister. After that I waited for my mom to get home and I told her as well. They were both so content and it made me feel so good about myself.
