Self Reflection During this project, I learned about Photoshop, though I am far from being a professional in the program. I extensively understand the tools that we learned to teach and have used them exclusively in projects since! With my prior knowledge of iMovie and the lessons we have received in class, I accomplished the creation of a professional “How To” screencast about the Photoshop move tool. I will be using this information in the future, because it is extremely beneficial to understand a program like Photoshop for editing and other resources. Screencasting and iMovie make instructional “How To’s” simple and easy to understand while maintaining professionalism, alongside being a great resource for my career in education. Due to the fact that I lack personal access to the technology needed for programs such as iMovie and Photoshop, it was necessary to visit campus in order to use Mac technology. When utilizing these programs in my own classroom, I would hope to have access to computer carts, tablets or other practical tech in schools to ensure comprehension of this lesson. Or, there is always a possibility of finding programs that run similarly to Photoshop and iMovie, such as Pixlr, Screencastify, and various photo editing apps. Editing and splicing the videos together using iMovie was definitely challenging. It was important to match up the audio clips to the screen recording, get rid of long pauses, and keep the information in order from start to finish in order to convey the correct lessons. I had fun creating a ritual composite; integrating my group member’s ritual with my own was interesting. My partner’s lunar new year practice combined with my personal practice of crystal usage and cleansing led to an interesting composite that I enjoyed making.
