Visualiser The lesson objective: make a fair test or comparison by changing one factor and observing or measuring the effect while keeping other factors the same (National Curriculum Objective)
How the Visualiser was used: The children were shown how to carry out the simple experiment, step by step using the visualiser. See photos below. The children were then asked which factors could be changed? Was it a fair test? What kind of experiment is this? Allowing for a full discussion.
The benefits of the Visualiser: • The visualiser allowed clear step by step instructions so that the children knew what should be happening. • It allowed to improve the childrens observation skills as it clearly showed the children what they should be looking at. • It improved the detail in which they could look at the object • Allowed the pictures to be saved which could then be used for refreshing the childrens memory regarding the discussion and experiment • Improved engagement in forthcoming lessons
