10 February 2018 Dear Parents/Guardians, SASMO Mathematics and Vanda International Science Competitions 2018 Indian Scholastic Academy (ISA) together with YOUR SCHOOL would like to invite the: • Class2 to 11 pupils who are keen to participate in the annual Singapore Asian Schools Math Olympiad (SASMO 2018). • Class 3 to 8 pupils who are keen to participate in the annual VANDA International Science Competition (VANDA 2018). • For both the contests, the grades (levels) will be same as the on-going academic session (2017-18) class. The contest and the preparation for it helps - to arouse students’ interest in mathematical problem solving - to develop mathematical intuition, reasoning, logical, creative and critical thinking.

Ignite your Passion - Vanda hopes to ignite the hidden passion for science! Vanda provides a range of interesting content in questions to spark their curiosity and hopefully venture deeper into the world of science. An Opportunity For All - Vanda wants to provides every student with the opportunity to expose themselves to a Science Olympiad Competition that follows closely to their syllabus and their level of content learned. This will give the students the confidence to take part in more challenging science competitions. Reaching Greater Heights - Vanda is designed to help students to be comfortable with various Science Olympiad papers in the right environment. Vanda wants students to utilize this experience to continue to take part in more challenging Science Olympiad Competitions in the future.

This is a good opportunity for the pupils to gain exposure to the rigour of the Math Olympiad and International Science competitions. Students pit their skills against other pupils.Both contests awards Perfect Score, Gold (top 8%), Silver (next 12%) and Bronze (next 20%). Winners of SASMO will be eligible to join the SingaporeInternational Mathematics Olympiad Challenge (SIMOC.sg – held in Singapore on July 15, 2018), International Junior Mathematics Olympiad (IJMO.asia – held in Bangkok

from July 27 to 31, 2018, only for Gold and Silver medalists). Good performance at these competitions help winners get into top schools. In 2018, we are offering 2 Scholarships worth S$80,000 to study the Singapore Cambridge and IGCSE “O”or“A” level Course for 18 months which Include Tuition and Lodging in Singapore. This is for students from grades 8 to 11, who win Gold awards in our contests and pass 3 qualifying tests in Math or Physics, Chemistry, English plus an interview. Apart from this, we have leadership awards for 2 students per 1000 students enrolled in our competitions to join a 5 day all expenses paid (excluding airfare) Young Achievers Leadership Academy (YALA). Students will be also provided with an individual assessment report on their strengths and areas of improvement. SASMO will award upto RS 5000 cash to students who get a Perfect Score award for SASMO. Preparation Material & Support: •

ISA will also support schools in training on winning ways for these contests.
