Journalism for change

GR Team Dilip D’Souza

Dilip D’Souza is a Mumbai based journalist, who writes about social and political causes. Dilip has written two books viz. Branded by Law: Looking at India’s Denotified Tribes and The Narmada Damned: An Inquiry into the Politics of Development. Dilip has won several awards for his writing, including the Statesman Rural Reporting Award, the Times of India / Red Cross prize, the Outlook / Picador nonfiction prize, the Sanctuary Magazine prize and more.

My Motorcycle Diaries

CS Sharada Prasad

CSP started his career as a Java developer and his most recent role was as a presales consultant. He is the cofounder of Mukta Foundation, an NPO that works towards streamlining volunteerism. CSP is working with the India Water Portal team and is also managing activities related to technology implementation at Arghyam. Last summer, CSP biked from Kanyakumari to Kashmir on his Thunderbird - 28 states, 19,000 km, 75 days to study water crisis issues in India.

Gaurav Mishra

Gaurav is the 2008-09 Yahoo! Fellow in International Values, Communications, Technology, and Global Internet at Georgetown University. Gaurav is doing research on how social media is being used differently by individuals and institutions in B.R.I.C. countries as compared to their first world counter-parts. Gaurav is frequently quoted in media as an authority on the emerging social media scene in India and has contributed chapters to two books on social media.

Using Mapunity

Pradeep

Pradeep B. V. is co-architect and developer of the Mapunity platform and communication technologies linked to it. Mapunity develops technology to tackle social problems and development challenges in India. Recently, Mapunity has partnered with the Bangalore City Police and Airtel Karnataka to provide a one-of-a-kind comprehensive urban traffic information system for Bangalore city.

Rajeev Talreja

Rajeev Talreja is the co-founder of Quantum Leap, a ‘Coaching’ Organization that prides on enabling its clients to produce business results that would not be predicted from current or past behavior. He runs a Children's Help Group in Chengareddipalli, Andhra Pradesh. In 2007, he was selected as one of the Top 10 Future Leaders from India by Better Future, Netherlands.

Vishal Talreja

Formerly an investment banker and venture capitalist, Vishal Talreja is the founder of Dream-a-Dream Foundation, where he has built a network of volunteers that offer vulnerable children opportunities to increase their chances for normal childhood development. He is an Asoka Fellow and recently he was nominated for the MTV youth icon award.
