COOS COUNTY will hold a residential brush/clean wood collection event at the Beaver Hill Disposal Site through Tuesday June 9. The fee for brush will be waived for this time period. Examples of accepted items include: residential shrub/tree trimmings; tree limbs to 24-inches in diameter; orchard tree trimmings; small stumps up to 24-inches (must be free of dirt, sand and rock); woody biomass from land clearing; grapevines (cut to 3-4 feet), bamboo; logging slash including limbs tops and small diameter logs; paneling; lumber; plywood, fiberboard (including OSB ply board. Nails are OK, but no other metals); clean demolition wood; wood pallets and wooden crates; wood shakes; old wooden picnic tables and patio furniture; and old wooden fence boards and wood posts (no wire). Items that wonÕt be accepted include: noxious weeds (Scotch broom, gorse, etc.); sheet rock; creosote; osmose or other treated woods; asphalt shingles; rolled roofing; plastic decking; vinyl coated material; acoustical tiles; concrete shakes; sod and dirt. Household garbage, furniture, appliances, tires, or construction debris need to be separated before being taken to Beaver Hill.
