Mr. Men and Little Miss Scene 1 – The Birthday Party (Hannah enters) Miss Bossy

: (angrily) You are late again.

Hannah

: I am very sorry Miss Bossy. I tried to reach early but...

Miss Bossy

: (angrily) But what? I don’t want any excuses anymore. You are always late. : Ugh! Forget it. Let’s go wish Emily before it gets too late.

Hannah

: Yes! Let’s go.

Miss Bossy

: She is right there! Come let’s go wish her. (They both go to wish Emily)

Hannah & Miss

(together with excitement) HAPPY BIRTHDAY EMILY!

Bossy Emily

: Thank You everyone. Why are you so late?

Miss Bossy

: Don’t bother. Let’s enjoy the party now! (Mr. Tickle enters)

Mr. Tickle

: You finally reached. We shall enjoy now. How are you feeling Emily ?

Emily

: I am feeling very miserable. I don’t like my birthday party.

Hannah

: Don’t say that! It’s your birthday and you should be the happiest.

Mr. Tickle

: Hannah is right and see we have all got you beautiful presents.

Emily

: Thank you, you can keep them on the table there. I shall open them later.

Miss Bossy

: Everyone put your presents on the table and let’s enjoy the party.

Hannah

: I am very hungry. I am going to go eat something. (she exits)

Miss Bossy

: Let’s go drink something first. I feel very thirsty.

Mr. Tickle &

: Yes!

Emily (Mr. Tickle, Ms. Bossy & Emily go to the drinks station) Mr. Tickle

: (whispering) I haven’t tickled anyone since morning. Let’s have some fun here! (He tickles Miss Bossy while she is drinking water and she spills it on her dress)

Miss Bossy

: (very angry) Mr. Tickle, what did you do? : I am all dirty now. : I will have to quickly clean up myself. We have to cut the cake now.

Mr. Tickle

: Sorry Miss Bossy.

Miss Bossy

: It’s okay. Come on everyone! (calling) Hannah? (They all gather to cut the cake and then once its cut, Hannah cuts a piece and tries to feed Emily. Mr. Tickle tickles her and instead of putting the cake in her mouth, Hannah puts it on the dress.)

Emily

: (very sad) I can’t even eat the cake now. It’s a horrible day.

Hannah

: Don’t be sad. Clean your dress with this tissue and come let’s open presents!

Miss Bossy

: Yes let’s go.

(They all go to the gifts table) Mr. Tickle

: (whispering) I’m in trouble now! I’ve forgotten to get a present. I must go take help from Miss Bossy. (calls Miss Bossy) Miss Bossy, please come here!

Miss Bossy

: Yes, Mr. Tickle. What happened?

Mr. Tickle

: I forgot to get a present for Mr. Miserable. What should I do?

Miss Bossy

: You have come to the right person. I always take advice from Miss Birthday. She love birthdays and giving people birthday gifts, so she always gives me the best suggestions.

Mr. Tickle

: That’s great! Please give me a good suggestion.

Miss Bossy

: Wait. Let me call her. She will help us out for sure.

Mr. Tickle

: Yes! That’s a great idea.

Miss Bossy

: (On the call) Hello Miss Birthday! Our friend Mr. Tickle has forgotten to carry a gift for Emily. Can you suggest something? Yes.. yes..oh! that’s perfect. Thank you. (cuts the call)

Mr. Tickle

: What did she say?

Miss Bossy

: She said that all you need to do is tickle him and he will start laughing.

Mr. Tickle

: That’s amazing. You saved me today. Thank you so much Miss Bossy. Thank Miss Birthday too from my side.

Miss Bossy

: Ha ha! Now let’s go. (Mr. Tickle and Miss Bossy go to the gifts table)

Hannah

: I got you a few happy flowers from Happy land. Just looking at them will make you smile.

Emily

: Thank you! (Emily’s face turns from a sad face to a straight face seeing those happy flowers.)

Miss Bossy

: Little Miss Tidy couldn’t come but she and I got you a frame for your beautiful wall and she said that she could also come clean the wall for you.

Emily

: Thank You! (Emily’s face turns from a straight face to a happier face seeing the frame.)

Mr. Tickle

: The only gift I have is this (he tickles Emily). (Emily starts laughing so much that everyone laughs and enjoys.)

Emily

: Thank you for coming everyone! (Just when everyone was about to leave the party, Diana enters)

Diana

: I am very sorry for coming this late Emily. I was with Mr. Daydream since he is unwell and left as soon as he felt a little better.

Emily

: That’s okay Diana. Thank you for coming.

Ms. Bossy, Hannah & Mr. Tickle

: We must go now. Bye Emily enjoy your day.

Emily

: Thank you. Bye! (Ms. Bossy, Hannah & Mr. Tickle exit) I must sleep for a little, I don’t quite feel well. I shall Meet you later.

Diana

: Yes Emily! Go get some rest. (Emily exits) (Diana sees something half buried in the pile of gifts. It was a lamp, she picks it up)

Diana

: (to himself) What a grubby old lamp (he gives it a rub) (Suddenly with a clap of thunder and in a cloud of smoke a genie appeared in front of Mr. funny, the genie was very

unhappy) Genie

: Master, I am the genie of the lamp and I appear before you to grant you three wishes.

Diana

: But why are you so sad Genie?

Genie

: Master, I am only supposed to fulfil your wishes. I cannot speak any further. (Diana pulls one of his famous funny faces, the genie didn’t laugh)

Diana

: I think it’s going to take more than a funny face to make you laugh genie, so for my first wish, I wish for a piano playing elephant.

Genie

: As you command master. (A piano Playing elephant appears before them, Diana and the rest roar with laughter but it was not funny enough to make the genie laugh)

Diana

: Now that was funny!

Genie

: Not really master. I don’t think all this will make me smile or laugh. I am not very happy.

Diana

: You’re a gloomy fellow. What’s wrong? Why are you so sad?

Genie

: You would be too, if you had to live in that lamp! A lamp so small. Look at me! You think I can live in this lamp happily?

Diana

: It must be a tight squeeze for sure.

Genie

: There is no room even to cough when you live in a lamp. I have been living inside since so many years. The only time I can breathe nicely is when I come outside to grant any one’s wish. Then I again have to go back inside. I don’t want to live here.

Diana

: I live in a teapot. A very comfortable teapot mind you.

Genie

: You are very lucky master.

Diana

: (Then a thought strikes him) For my second wish, I wish your lamp was a house. (Finally the genie smiled)

Genie

: Thank you so much master. I am finally free now. What is your third wish?

Diana

: That’s more like it, now, for my third wish, I wish to meet father Christmas!

Genie

: As you command! (Father Christmas appears before them, everybody starts jumping and clapping in excitement). (Genie disappears)

Father Christmas

: Hello Diana!

Diana

: Hello Father Christmas. I am so happy!! I finally get to meet you. I even wrote you a letter which is full of my Christmas wishes.

Father Christmas

: I will surely read and try to fulfill as many wishes as possible. But for now I must go as I have a lot of letters to read.

Diana

: Yes, Father Christmas. Bye. Scene 6

Mom

: Why are you crying Jeni?

Jeni

: Mom, I've never seen a White Christmas. It never snows here in Australia during Christmas. : We could see a White Christmas next year in Paris! Father and I will take you for sure.

Mom

Jeni

: (Sobbing) But I want to see one this year

Mom

: Jeni, enough! Come, on Jeni! You’re getting late for school. (Jeni exit’s stage right disappointedly)

Mom

: I think I should try writing father Christmas a letter. Hopefully he reads it and tries to fulfil Jeni’s wish. Scene 7

Father Christmas Mr. Snow

: Mr. Snow, there's a girl named Jeni who really wishes for a White Christmas. : Father Christmas, that's an impossible dream to fulfil!

Father Christmas Mr. Snow

: I really want to fulfil her dream. Her mother even wrote me a letter. : That’s very sweet of her. But how will we do it?

Father Christmas Mr. Snow

: I will need your help Mr. Snow. I want to fulfil a lot of Christmas wishes this year. : (laughing) Ha.. ha ..ha! I will help you.

Father Christmas Mr. Snow

: Thank you Mr. Snow! Now let me think.

Father Christmas Mr. Snow

: I think I know someone. Maybe Miss Magic can help us!

Father Christmas Mr Snow

: Excellent! You can borrow my sleigh. You can also take Jenni for a ride and show her how beautiful a white Christmas is! : It is a rather long walk to Jeni’s house!

: (thinking) umm…

: That's a great idea!

(Mr. Snow and Father Christmas exit stage) (Enter Mr. Snow and Little Miss Magic) Mr Snow Miss Magic

: I've packed my suitcase and now I'm set for Jeni’s house! What about you, Miss Magic? : I'm ready too! In Father Christmas' sleigh we'll reach in no time!

(At Jeni’s house) Jeni

: (To Mr. Snow) Hello, Mr. Snow!

Mom

: (To Miss Magic) Who are you?

Little Miss Magic Mom

: I'm Miss Magic and we're here to fulfil Jeni’s wish!

Mr. Snow

: Oh! How wonderful! I knew Father Christmas would read my letter. : I think we need to hurry up, Jeni. Mr. Snow is starting to melt! : Oh yes, look! Mr. Snow is melting! What are we going to do now? : Alakazam snow snow snow! (Little Miss Magic mutters some very magical words and suddenly it starts snowing) : I can't believe my eyes! It's actually snowing! Mr. Snow, Miss Magic, I'm going to wear my sweater now! : Thank you Mr. Snow and Miss Magic! Look how happy Jeni is! : Ah! That's alright. The good thing is I'm not melting anymore.

Miss Magic

: Jeni, would you like to come for a ride with us?

Mr Snow

: Father Christmas has allowed us to borrow his sleigh!

Jeni

: Yes, I would love to!

Mom

: Take care, Jeni! Thank you once again Mr. Snow and Miss Magic. See you soon. (They take off. Jeni sees the snowy landscape below them)

Jeni Mr. Snow

Wow! Everything looks so beautiful! Thank you Mr. Snow and Miss Magic : It does, indeed!

Little Miss Magic

(Hannah & Emily enter) : (Suddenly she realises that everyone is shivering) Oh no! Mr. Snow?

Miss Magic Jeni Little Miss Magic Jeni Mom

Mr Snow

: Yes?

Little Miss Magic Emily

: (To Mr. Snow) Hannah and Emily are shivering!

Jeni

: Hi Emily, yes it was! Doesn't everything look wonderful?

Hannah

: Jeni, we're shivering! We never have a White Christmas. (All characters are now visible and they are shivering) : (Realising that everyone around him was unhappy with the cold) Mr. Snow, can we make the snow stop? Everyone is freezing! : Well, yes. Everyone is not prepared for a White Christmas

Jeni

Little Miss Magic Little Miss Magic Jeni Mr Snow Jeni All Mr Snow and Miss Magic All

: Hi Jeni, was this White Christmas your idea?

: Alakazam stop stop stop! (Little Miss Magic mutters her special words and then begins to get warmer) : There you are! It has stopped snowing now! : But I'm beginning to melt! We should go back to Father Christmas and fulfil another child's wish! : Thank you Mr. Snow and Little Miss Magic. See you again soon : Bye Miss Magic and Mr. Snow! : Bye! Merry Christmas all of you! : Merry Christmas! (The End)
