The Chicago Residential Landlord-Tenant Ordinance states that you owe me the entire amount of the security deposit, since I did not hear from you within 30 days of vacating the apartment. If I do not receive my deposit and interest, I can sue you for the deposit, plus a penalty equal to twice the amount of the deposit and any court costs or attorney's fees.
