NEW SAMOA INDUSTRIAL PARK One year ago Samoa finished its move to its new premises. They include new Production Facilities, Distribution Centre, Product Research and Development Centre and Corporative Offices. One year ago, Samoa finalised the move to its new Industrial Complex and Corporate Offices. Located in the outskirts of Gijón, on the Spanish north coast, the new Complex has today a covered surface larger than 20.000 m2. More land is available for further planned expansions. The new Industrial Complex is now running at full capacity and thanks to this it has been possible to increase production capacity and improve the delivery time of products. The new Industrial Complex comprises a quality driven Precision Components Production section. Other components are produced in the other three plants that are still operative in Gijón and they will be progressively integrated in new buildings in the Industrial Park. This section uses state of the art machinery and highly automated processes. High skilled operators are responsible for producing quality. In Samoa’s manufacturing philosophy, quality is an essential element and it is achieved through excelling in all processes, starting with product conceptualization and finalising when the product arrives to the end user.

Another section in the new complex is the Component Finishing. Component finishing is done using advanced surface treatment techniques and coating. Samoa uses lead and heavy metal free polyester resin paints, which provide an excellent resistance to impacts, abrasion and corrosion.

Distribution Centre. The Distribution Centre is fully computerised and automated and offers high efficiency levels and maximum flexibility. The allocated resources for the DC allows daily deliveries to worldwide customers thus helping then to manage easier their purchases of equipments and replacement parts.

The zinc plating process is fully automated and offers a high quality finish with maximum care for the environment.

Special attention has been given to the new Product Engineering Development department. Through continuous interaction with our worldwide distributors and end users, we collect

Finished components are transferred into industrial assembly lines where the final product is manufactured. Products are functionally tested following strict procedures. Each of these procedures is specifically defined for every product and they assure that customer expectations are fully met. After the final product has passed its test procedure, it is delivered to the

the inputs required to identify new product requirements and needs. These inputs provide the stimulus to create innovative solutions, applying new technologies, advanced materials and state of the art manufacturing techniques. Product Development Engineers study the feasibility of the ideas in the Product Research Laboratory, working together with Manufacturing and Sourcing Engineers. This study achieves a well defined and standardized manufacturing process for new products. Thus Samoa achieves an optimum quality to cost ratio, the intended product functionality, aesthetics, ergonomics and minimum environmental impact throughout its life. The Samoa Group mission is to develop, manufacture and distribute products within the Fluid Handling Technique.

NEW GENERATION OF AIR OPERATED PUMPS FOR LUBRICANTS Samoa introduces a new generation of high efficiency air operated pumps designed to transfer and dispense lubricants. A new generation of pumps, with lower air consumption and the same high performance characteristic of all Samoa pumps, is now available. The new pumps are adaptable to 50 and 220 l original containers and any type of bulk tank. Different models are available with the right pressure ratio for each application: lubricants transfer, mobile and fix distribution packages and as part of complex distribution systems that can include several hose reels, meters, etc. Pump Master 2 high efficiency pumps for lubricants.

Pump Master 4 high performance pumps for lubricants.

The Pump Master 2 pumps have a patented new high efficiency air valve mechanism that allows minimum air consumption and noise level while keeping the traditional performance of this range of pumps. The use of corrosion free materials and reduced friction, thanks to a very high quality finishing, makes unnecessary the use of air lubricators, eliminating oil mist projections in the environment, and provide superb resistance against corrosion caused by moisture in not treated compressed air.

The new designed Pump Master 4 oil pumps offer a more attractive design and eliminates dead volumes for a better and more efficient use of compressed air. The new air motor body has a plug that can easily be replaced with a pressure release valve to avoid overpressure in the pump and in the oil distribution line.

Pumps are available with two pressure ratios for different applications.

3:1 pressure ratio pumps are recommended for centralised distribution systems that include up to medium length distribution pipelines, hose reels and meters with simultaneous operation outlets. They have a free delivery of 45 l/min (11.9 g.p.m.) when tested with SAE 30 oil, 7 bar air inlet pressure and a room temperature of 22ºC. Pumps are available with a suction tube suitable for 220 l drum (p.n. 341120) and as short pumps (p.n. 340120).

PumpMaster 2 - 3:1 pressure ratio pump / Part Number 354 120

PumpMaster 2 - 1:1 pressure ratio pump / Part Number 352 120

3:1 pressure ratio pumps are recommended for their use in mobile units and distribution packages that include hose reels and in centralised distribution systems that include short to medium length distribution pipelines, hose reels and meters with no simultaneous operation outlets. They have a free delivery of 33.9 l/min (8.9 g.p.m.) when tested with SAE 30 oil, 7 bar air inlet pressure and a room temperature of 22ºC. Pumps are available with a suction tube suitable for 220 l drum (p.n. 354120) and as short pumps (p.n. 353120).

5:1 pressure ratio pumps are recommended for centralised distribution systems that include medium and large length distribution pipelines, hose reels and meters with simultaneous operation outlets. They have a free delivery of 35 l/min (9.2 g.p.m.) when tested with SAE 30 oil, 7 bar air inlet pressure and a room temperature of 22ºC. Pumps are available with a suction tube suitable for 220 l drum (p.n. 348120) and as short pumps (p.n. 347120).

PumpMaster 4 - 3:1 pressure ratio pump / Part Number 341 120

1:1 pressure ratio pumps are recommended for lubricant transfer and for use in mobile units and distribution packages. They have a free delivery of 52.8 l/min (13.9 g.p.m.) when tested with SAE 30 oil, 7 bar air inlet pressure and a room temperature of 22ºC. Pumps are available with a suction tube suitable for 220 l drum (p.n. 352120) and as short pumps (p.n. 351120)

Pumps are available with two pressure ratios for different applications.

PRESSURE RELIEF VALVE The air motor body of the PumpMaster 2 - 3:1 pressure ratio pump and the PumpMaster 4 - 3:1 and 5:1 pressure ratio pumps have a R 1/4” threaded plug that can be replaced with a very simple and effective pressure relief valve. This valve opens automatically whenever the pressure in the system exceeds aproximately 60 bar. It protecs the pump and the system from overpressure caused by thermal expansion of the oil. A return oil hose should be fitted and connected to the oil tank or drum.

NEW BUNG ADAPTOR All pumps include a new design height adjustable M2” bung adaptor.

Introducing the new «DIRECT FLO» diaphragm pumps Samoa introduces a new range of diaphragm pumps that eliminates all disadvantages of conventional diaphragm pumps without sacrificing the many advantages of these pumps.

A pneumatic valve mechanism, the air motor, alternately feeds and exhausts the air on the dry side of the diaphragms, thus providing the compressed air to drive the pump.

Direct Flo pumps have an innovative and patented air valve mechanism that results in an improved operational reliability as it is self-cleaning, self-sealing, friction free and non stalling regardless the quality of air used. The Friction Free Pivoting Valve air motor is an extremely reliable and fast mechanism that assures a continuous operation. It is also a separate unit that can be inspected and serviced without dismantling the wet parts of the pump, reducing service time and service costs.

DF 40/M Diaphragm pump

All air operated diaphragm pumps, Direct Flo pumps included, operate on the same basic principle. They use compressed air to displace the fluid being pumped by means of flexible diaphragms. As the diaphragms reciprocate, powered by

compressed air on their dry side, the volumes of the fluid cavities expand and contract alternatively, filling and then expelling the fluid. Pumps have valves to control the flow and to ensure that the cavity is filled from the intake and expelled through the discharge ports.

Almost all air operated diaphragm pumps are minor variations of the same theme. As they are basically similar, they share the same advantages but they also share most disadvantages of conventional air operated diaphragm pumps.

Efficiency of conventional diaphragm pumps can be vastly improved reducing hydraulic loss.In conventional pumps, the fluid is forced to make several transverse turns though the pump body and manifolds causing unnecessary energy loss. Direct Flo reduces energy losses since unnecessary fluid turns are replaced by a central flow path.

design allows an enormous simplicity in pump service and maintenance. All regular maintenance operations, such as cleaning valves or replacing worn diaphragms can be carried out without dismounting the pump from the fluid lines. This reduces drastically service time and cost. The first model of the Direct Flo range of pumps that will be available is the DF-40. This pump has a nominal flow rate of 40 litres per minute (10.5 g.p.m.) and its wet parts are manufactured in Aluminium, Hytrel and Acetal.

EVACUMASTER - Clean and efficient waste collection. Waste oil suction unit for collecting waste from vehicles using a cane or connector inserted into the motor oil dip stick tube. The unit is installed along the service bay and enables the cleanest method of waste oil collection. An air operated piston pump, specially engineered for suction applications, extracts the waste oil and transfers it to a remote storage tank. Main advantages of the use of this equipment are: • Direct collection of waste oil, from the engine to the storage tank. • No operator in contact with waste oil. • No need for mobile collecting equipment and no splashes or spills of waste oil onto the workshop floor. • This equipment can also be used with hose reels for extra reach. The equipment includes: • Air operated pump, specially designed for waste oil suction. • On/Off valve, air filter with pressure regulator and adjustable timer to extend pump’s life. • Vacuum gauge for monitoring the unit`s performance • Extra large capacity suction filter, with easy access for cleaning and maintenance. • 3 m suction hose, suction canes and connectors kit.
