Idea / Approach details MAIN IDEA 1. As we all know saline water can be made potable by the method of Desalination.It is the general process of desalining sea water using a large amount of energy to remove a portion of pure water from a salt water source. 2. For this desalination process we will be using the method of vapour formation using a Vaporizer. 3. This vaporizer uses a piezoelectric transducer (resonating frequency 1.6MHz) that produces high-energy vibrations which cause the water to turn into vapour. 4. Those water vapour are then condensed in another container to obtain pure water from saline water. 5. This will be very compact(size of a water bottle) and cost effective.

USE CASES 1. This process of desalination occurs in two stages , firstly through vaporization of the saline water into vapour and finally through condensation one can get back the pure water in another container. 2. When the vaporiser is supplied with dual source power supply, the piezoelectric transducer present in it starts vibrating at high frequency producing high energy causing water to turn into vapour. 3. This power supply has dual sources, solar and battery sources. In islands ,there is usually shortage of electricity thus solar energy can be used for powering vaporizer. The battery is also dual chargable through both solar and electric energy. 4. The water vapour molecules are of size less than 5 microns which rise up leaving the residual salt in the purifier and transferred to the condenser where the vapour condenses to get pure potable water.
