Review of Related Literature and Study This chapter presents the related study of hair color, theories background and review of literature of hair coloring, its effects and benefits among employed women. Review of Literature “Natural hair can be a great canvas for color, but if you’re considering dyeing your hair for the first time, there are precaution to take in order to have permanent color of the hair.”(Feliciano R. 2016). “Hair dyes use a combination of chemicals; harsh and can harden and making the hair become thin. And also irritate the skin and scalp, though long-term cumulative happened.”(Keis et. al 2009) More specially prolonged use of permanent dark hair dyes can double a person’s risk of getting some types of irritation of scalp. However, evidence is limited and inconsistence for link between irritation from hair dye. Women believe that their hair natural color of hair is boring which is black of color. The shimmer of reflected light hair color helps the hair more beautiful and very nice to have. People color their hair in different ways, determinant of female physical attractiveness focused hair coloring to attain the beauty ideal and why many concerned with having their body look a certain way in order to be perceived as attractive.”(Cohn, A. 2012) “Phenylenediamine is known to cause health concerns, such as skin irritation. Related Studies “One of the popular styles lately is hair coloring. People color their hair in different ways, some women change the color completely while others lighten their natural color. Hair can be done naturally or with chemicals such as hair dyes.” (Glasser and Robnett 2009) According to Voracek (2005) employed women can easily dye their hair because hair coloring can help high standard women as look gorgeous and look attractive as added with cosmetic. Nowadays, hair coloring is very common than the other past generations. Hair color has the capability to change the entire appearance of someone that gives good benefits to the women in our locality.
Hair is one of the best outfit that you’ve have (Smith K. (2000). When women color their hair chemicals enter the hair follicle to change the natural color of the hair that result beautiful and extravagant hair. But, not all the time hair coloring good side, there is an effect that make your hair dry and frizzy. The microscopic changes to the hair caused by hair coloring, hair waving, and hair ironing are making the hair dry with applying of chemical reaction. For the study, 154 women were recruited and categorized in groups; a control group (n=49) who had not treated hair within six months; a dyed hair group (n=35); and an ironed-hair group (n=35).
