We will examine different genres of writing and the styles common to each, along with narrative voice and some of the methods used in prestigious creative writing programs across the nation. Improve your observation skills gain the skills to translate what you see onto paper. Regardless of skill level, anyone can learn fundamental drawing techniques to enhance their creative capabilities. This course, for beginners as well as those who are more advanced, takes a look at drawing through a series of related steps and diverse techniques. Air quality is a major environmental health issue for Dallas. Dallas is located in the nine county non-attainment area, a region in which the air quality monitors do not meet federal air quality standards for a criteria pollutant, ozone. Dallas is addressing poor air quality through its green fleet, environmental ordinances, renewable energy and recycling programs. Join Nicole Cooper from the City of Dallas to learn more about environmental initiatives.
Feb. 15: North Texas Master Naturalist
Often it is the passion of volunteers that encourages change. Texas is fortunate to have a statewide program that trains volunteers to provide education and outreach in a wide variety of natural resource conservation efforts. Find out who your Texas Master Naturalists are and how these volunteers are bringing the green to Dallas.

Jump into the employment market with a resume designed to showcase your proven talents and skills. Learn special tips to make your lifetime achievements shine on paper. A handout and instructions will guide you through drafting a resume worthy of winning a gold medal. Whether you have been laid off and are reentering the job market after years of working for the same employer or the economy dictates that you pick up extra cash or you’d just like to try a new career, this session is for you. No resume is necessary to attend. The actual resume you craft after this session will be critiqued in the March 25th session.
