alpha epsilon delta AE∆ is UNC’s Co-Ed Pre-Health Honors Fraternity. Although many of our members are Pre-Med, we welcome all Pre-Health members. Requirements for Pledging include a 3.2 Science and Cumulative GPA, along with Chapter-outlined Volunteer and Social Participation. AE∆ holds meeting on Tuesdays during the year in the Student Union. At these meetings we have professionals from various health related fields as well as Medical college admissions recruiters. For this year, we have presentations planned with • A Duke University MD/PhD Student • Kaplan and Princeton Review Test Prep (both of whom offer discounts to AE∆ members) • South Orange County Rescue Squad • Nurse Anesthetist • UNC Neurosurgeon • Dr. Tony Hilger, UNC’s Pre-Health Advisor • Dean’s Panel with North Carolina Medical Colleges • And many more… AE∆ Sponsors and puts on two main events during the year. In the spring, we have both the Hearts on Franklin 5K and the UNC Health Fair, which sees Medical and Health Programs from around the country at UNC. It is a great opportunity to get to know the people who will be reading your applications. AE∆ is undergoing a few changes for the upcoming year. We have added more social events and more events which apply directly to our goals of being the best and most prepared medical, dental, nursing, optometry, and general students we can be. • IM Teams for all Major Sports (Tarhealers) • MCAT/DAT/OAT Examples and help at all meetings from a real Kaplan Instructor! • Peer tutoring and Mentoring • Saturday Football Tailgates and Group Seating • Semi-Formal with other NC AE∆ Chapters • Pledge/Member Retreat • Alternative Spring Break with Habitat for Humanity in Florida • Along with many other opportunities to get to know your other Health loving students!
