RULES & REGULATIONS for Best Buddies Forever (BBF) Awards submission
A. Eligibility Requirement: 1. The contest is open to youth aged 13 to 25 years old (except staff of Health Promotion Board, immediate family members of such employees and youth volunteers of Health Promotion Board). There are 2 categories of submission for the contest: Video category Picture category 2. Participants may only submit one entry per category. In the instance where the participant wins awards in both categories, the higher prize will be awarded. 3. Valid contact details must be submitted with each entry to be eligible for the contest. 4. All entries must be submitted by 4th September 2009, 2359 hours. organisers shall not be held responsible for any lost or late entries.

B. Theme: 5. The theme of the contest, as suggested by the title, is about friendship. Submitted entry shall express appreciation of their friend or friends who have helped the participant overcome difficulties and challenges in life. C. Content: 6. All submissions must be original works. No copyrighted material is to be used in any part of the entry. 7. The organisers and its partners shall not be responsible for any infringement of copyright or intellectual property. The unlawful use of any unlicensed/illegal software, the posting of libelous, offensive, or defamatory contents is strictly disallowed. Participants will be held responsible for any infringement of copyrights or intellectual property. 8. All entries will be pre-moderated. The organisers reserve the right to remove or disqualify any entry which they deem offensive or to have infringed the stipulated rules. 9. All entries and their intellectual property shall be considered the property of the Health Promotion Board and may be used for other health education materials or at health promotion events as the Health Promotion Board deems fit. The entries may be subjected to modifications as the Health Promotion Board deems fit and necessary to suit its health education materials or health promotion events. 10. The organisers reserve the right to change, amend or withdraw the rules and regulations without prior notice.
D. Assessment Criteria 11. Selection of entries will be determined entirely by online votes collected between 13th August 2009 and 8th September 2009, 2359 hours. 12. A total of 20 entries, 10 from each category, will be selected for the award ceremony on 12th September 2009. Prizes will be presented in accordance with the number of votes garnered, i.e. entries with the most votes will be awarded the 1st prize etc. 13. Participants whose entries are selected will be informed by 10th September 2009.
E. Prizes: 14. Prizes for each category are listed below: Video Category: 1st Prize: $800 2nd Prize: $600 3rd Prize: $500 5 Consolation Prizes: $200 each Picture Category: 1st Prize: $1000 2nd Prize: $800 3rd Prize: $600 5 Consolation Prizes: $200 each 15. Winners of the contest will be notified by email or phone. Winners will have to be present for an award ceremony on 12th September 2009 in order to claim the prize money. The prize money shall be credited to the winners via Interbank GIRO. Winners will be informed of the exact details of the claiming procedures at a later date. 16. The organisers reserve the right not to award any of the prizes if the submitted entries fail to meet the minimum standards expected. The decision of the organisers is final. No correspondences will be entertained. 17. Every participant will need to provide - Name (as in NRIC/FIN) - Date of Birth - Age - Email address and - Mobile number - Home telephone number during online registration for participation in the contest.
Additional criteria for foreigners who would like to take part in this competition. You must: - have a valid FIN number - will be in Singapore during competition duration (10 August 2009– 12 September 2009) - have a local bank account into which we can credit the winning amount These details i.e. Name and Date of Birth will be used for verification purposes in the event that the participant wins a prize in one of the contest categories. Participants will be required to produce the necessary identification e.g. student EZ-link card or I/C for verification purposes during the claiming of prizes. The organizers reserve the right not to award prizes to participants who fails to provide any of the required identification as stated above.
F. Submission Requirements: 18. Submission should meet the following requirements: Video category:
Videos are to be done in English Duration of the video should not be longer than 3 minutes All entries must be hosted on YouTube.
Picture category:
All entries should be in .jpg or .gif format, Should be 1028 X 764 pixels in dimension and Should not be more than 1.5MB in size.
19. All submissions are to be accompanied by a brief write-up (of a maximum of 500 characters) explaining the entries in relation to the theme i.e. how the buddy/buddies has/have helped the participant in his or her life. 20. All video entries are to be uploaded on Youtube; subsequently, the code for embedding is to be copied and entered into the award homepage. 21. Rules and Regulations for the Voters A. Registration: 1. Registration is required for casting of votes. B. Voting process: 2. Each voter is allowed to vote for up to 10 different submissions. They are not allowed to cast more than one vote for each submission. C. Prizes for voters: 3. Voters will be entered for a lucky draw where 16 lucky voters will stand a chance to win a pair of movie voucher. Each voter is entitled to win only one pair of movie vouchers, regardless of the number of times he/she voted. Terms and conditions for using the vouchers apply. Lucky voters will be notified via email or phone on where and when to collect the movie vouchers.
