Calling All Muses!
Picture of the Month
As most of you have noticed or participated in there has been an on going saga unfolding in the forum. What started as meaningless fluff has evolved into a complex story with many sides. A writer can only improve by using the tools that other writers leave behind. We all learn from everyone else. This text role play has inspired me to pull your muses into action. I am putting a challenge out to all those in the guild. So read well what I say now! To help all of us improve and make us better writers (because I know some if not most of you love to create stories) I ask you to find a tiny bit of time to write something. There will be a choosen theme to give you some direction, you must use the universe that is Shaiya for the rest. Write a paragraph, write a page! Send your stories to me (Aryia) via the guild or my email and I will bring it before our panel staff. Memo for staff members, if you want to participate as well they you will be excluded from judging your own, its only fair! So break out that quill and parchment! To start it off I have wrote a small story. Enjoy! ~ Aryia
CONGRATULATIONS KERATESIU!

Never Forgotten The world was quiet. At least it seemed to be. In the distance there was tremendous noice, but around her there was nothing. The sound crept closer quickly and overtook her senses, forcing her eyes open to a blur of swirling colors. She groaned and turned her head away from the sky. The cold grass sending chills across her cheek. What had happened? Why did she hurt so much? The realization hit her and stole her breath. She had been hit by a spell, a terrible and powerful mental spell that rendered her unconcious. Slowly she sat and tried to pull herself together. The world came into focus slowly. beheld could only be a dream. The snow covered ground speckled with the blood of her kindred. Her head swam for a moment sending her stumbling back against the mountainside. There was no time to hesitate. She needed to find Thane. He was all the mattered to her. The blood coming from her shoulder where the magic had struck, numb, unnoticed. The dead littered the ground like an unorganized puzzle mattered not for them she could do nothing but pray their souls to safety, but there was no time. She held only hope that Thane was still alive. Gathering her bow that laid near where she had fell, she ran. Her eyes tried to focus ahead of her. The battle had moved away from the altar when it fell, closer to the frozen lake, Ice Eltanin. The Fury was pushing the light back towards the lake. It was only early winter; the lake would not be solid. Where were her brethern? Why had they not answered their cry for help before? She paused only a moment to see if she could find Thane and she indeed had found him. Summoning what was left of her mana she sprinted towards him. He was unmistakable. Dark hair and tan skin that made him stand out around the mainly elven party they had come with. He wielded a spear, the least popular weapon among the fighter class, but he told her it was to challenge him to be the best he could. She had run too close to not be noticed now. Drawing her bow up and firing arrow after arrow to hit a mark all while moving closer to Thane. Finally they made eye contact but something struck her feet. Glancing down she saw a tangle of roots. This couldn’t happen, not now! She turned slightly to look behind her and saw the face of Fury Pagan walking towards her. He was ready to strike her down and it would be impossible to fire from the angle she stood. Everything happened slowly. She could see the spear fly beside her, barely missing her and finding home in the chest of the Pagan. Her heart rejoiced until she turned to Thane who stood feet from her, yet he did not rejoice with her. Why? The mana the Pagan had held had to be released and it had not been focused on her, but on him. He held his hand from his chest and gasped at the sight of blood pouring from his armor. The spell released her feet and she ran to him. His weight falling onto her and pulling them both to the snow below, neither had noticed that the Fury were in retreat for their breathern had arrived in droves. Neither took their focus from the other.
He was dying she could feel it. ‘Val…No tears…’ He whispered softly as his hand came to her cheek but quickly fell to her lap. Her heart was breaking. The feeling of loosing the only man who meant anything to her was too much. Why now? She needed him now more than ever. Why today? Her fists beat his chest, screaming his name over and over. Several of those in their party pulled her away from him though she fough them before collasping into their arms. Exhaustion had taken over. The world was quiet. In the distance the tremendous noice had returned, but around her there was nothing. Her body forced her to come back into the light and the agony of what had transpired came flowing back like an ice wave. It chilled her to the core. Her beloved Thane had left her behind, but at least he left her with a piece of himself. Her hand when to her stomach and she drifted back into the quiet.
Q & A with Mage Micah Interview by TalVey Q: What is your favorite class and why? A. NM Mage. It’s a no brainer. All intelligence or intelligence and wisdom. Hard mode I am not sure but I would have to say Fighter because of the weapons available and ease of use. Q: What would you define as the most satisfying aspect of being the WH Keeper? A. Don’t want to sound cocky, but I enjoy being able to help others and I like the responsibility. Q: How often (if ever) do you go back to Map 1 to show off? A.I’ve gone probably 4-5 time just to show off, usually stipped down and hiding. But I’m back about once a month for one reason or another. Q. Another Orig… What was the First MMORPG you ever played? A. Delta Force, a first person shooter. MMORPG?? Seven something or another, a martial arts game. Q: In the world of Shaiya, what is your favorite aspect of the game? A. Graphics are a big deal. I can’t stand cartoony games or crappy graphics. But honestly, if it wasn’t for the guild, I wouldn’t be here.. you guys are like family continued on page 3

A. Graphics are a big deal. I can’t stand cartoony games or crappy graphics. But honestly, if it wasn’t for the guild, I wouldn’t be here.. you guys are like family. Q. Do you think that it would enhance the playing experience if we stayed in char while in game.. or no? A. Up to a point. I think if it stayed fun and not too serious, it could be a good thing. But if people started taking it TOO seriously, it would kill it real quick. Q.You and Trig go way back… Got any dirt? A. LMAO! Oh wow! What a loaded question. I’ve known Trig for about 4 years and I have to say, he’s the only man I know that has driven fast enough to float a trailer. He was on a backroad in Colorado with a few very small ripples in the road. He was going so fast, that when he hit the ripple… let’s just say it took the trailer a little while to come back down.
Hints & Tips This month I thought it might be intresting to cover the topic of Dual Lapis. I know everyone (if not everyone then go to Apu) has seen them for sale or linked one. However if you are like me, you have no idea what they do or what they are even worth. So I found this helpful little chart on the aeria games forum and figured I would share with the guild. Linking Chance All Duals lapis have the same Linking Chance like ordinary level 4 lapises: 16% at full bless. They do not supposed to break gear in case of failure (at least with the same low chance like level 4 lapises) Drop location Duals drop in the new maps dino and desert 1, not two (two drops the almost useless accessory lapis). The dinos in jungle drop craft, mystic, and wise. The spiders/scorpions in desert1 drop safe, shrewd, and fortune. Linking Too They usually go with any gear or weapon, except Dual Safe2 and Dual Fortune2, which go with weapon only while increasing attack as second stat.
