Chestnut St Rogers, Arkansas 72756 Dear Mayor Womack, On November 14,2006, you submitted a request to Immigration and Customs Enforcement (I CE), requesting that the City of Rogers, Arkansas be considered for participation in the State and Local Delegation of Authority Program al so known as 287(g). As you know ICE and the City of Rogers are currently conducting a related survey. During thi s survey the Mexican American Legal Defense and Educational Fund (MALDEF) provided information related to Lopez et. al vs. City of Rogers et. aI , [No. 01-5061 , U.S. District Court for the Western Di strict of Arkansas, March 23 , 2001]. The settlement provides general and specific guidance, which the City of Rodgers has agreed to comply with. Appendix C of the settlement establishes an Ad Hoc Monitoring, Advisory Committee" (Committee) to the Rogers Police Department. It is important that all facets of your request be considered. Please provide an explanation as to how the 287(g) program will assist the City of Rogers in complying with the terms of Lopez vs. City Rogers . You may address your reply to my attention.
