How Japan sees its situation by the fall of 1941 • The US is being a bully and trying to deny Japan its right to be a major power like Britain and America • The US is “strangling” Japan by cutting off oil and vital resources it needs for national survival
• The US is unwilling to negotiate on China, doesn’t care that Japan has invested tremendous resources and lost many lives in “stabilizing” the chaos in China. • The US must be concerned with the German conquests in Europe, if Japan moves quickly to take what it needs, the US will not be able to concentrate all its resources to the Pacific • The only force capable of stopping Japan from taking what it needs in Asia is the US Pacific Fleet now based within reach at Pearl Harbor Japan has no choices left, it must attack America to survive!
