BALTIMORE COUNTY POLICE DEPARTMENT Integrity…Fairness…Service

November 24, 2008

FOR RELEASE: Immediately

Police Need the Public’s Help Identifying the Suspect in Aysha Ring Homicide Suspect’s Image Obtained from Store Video Baltimore County Police are seeking the public’s help in identifying the man who killed Aysha Dawn Ring, 24, of the unit-block of Chadnor Court, 21244, while she was waiting inside Charing Cross Liquors in the 5200-block of Baltimore National Pike in Precinct 1/Wilkens. The murder took place at about 4:00 p.m. on Saturday, November 22. The suspect is described as a black male, 20 to 30 years old, 6’1” tall, and weighing approximately 230 pounds. According to witnesses, Ring was waiting at the cash register to make a purchase. The suspect came up behind her, grabbed her and cut her neck. He then fled the store. Ms. Ring was taken to Shock Trauma where she later died of her injuries. Some of the customers in the store left before police arrived, and investigators have little information to go on. Homicide detectives believe that some of the customers who left the store might have information to help lead them to the killer, and they are asking those customers to come forward. It is not known if the killer knew his victim or what the motive might have been. Anyone with information about the crime is asked to call Baltimore County Police at 410307-2020 or Metro Crime Stoppers at 1-866-7-LOCKUP (1-866-756-2587). Those calling Metro Crime Stoppers can remain anonymous and might be eligible for a cash reward of up to $2,000. ### EDITOR’S NOTE: A photograph of the suspect is available to be e-mailed or photographed by the media at the Public Safety Building, 700 East Joppa Road, Towson, Maryland 21286.
