Retreat

Retreat The pain is now in my limbs working its way up the ladder of mind, one step at a time, in torn shoes, exposing my bleeding toes. The rigor mortis seems to be moving faster than its appointed time, setting the heart beat in a motion of its final retreat, where no one would touch, no one would feel, the evaporated emotions.
