CORE QUALIFICATIONS  Skilled in painting, drawing, and ceramics, with exhibition and retail representation.  Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, Word, PowerPoint, Google Docs, and Google Slides.  Basic proficiency in both written and spoken French.  Studied art in England and traveled to France, Italy, Croatia, Czech Republic, Germany, and Ireland.   

RELEVANT EXPERIENCE   Prairieview-Ogden South Elementary, Student Teacher, Champaign County, IL   January 2019 - Present  Taught art to a classroom of 5th grade students for 40 minutes a week for 7 weeks, collaborated with a full-time  teacher on strategies to increase meaning in art and maximize learning.  Developed a theme-based unit plan in a curriculum grid format that was conceptually driven through  problem-solving and included the teaching of art skills/techniques.   Prepared and executed 7 full lesson plans with all supplemental materials and instructional resources (presentations,  handouts, written tasks, demos, teacher examples, assessments). Lessons are positively impacted with the use of  technology (smart board, computers, video clips, cameras, games, and music).  Krannert Art Museum, Museum Education Volunteer, Champaign, IL   August 2018 - Present  Prepared teaching materials for the upcoming week, chaperoned students, and observed our teaching plans for the  KAM-WAM program (Krannert Art Museum-Week at the Museum). It is a collaborative program with local  schools to create and teach lessons based on artwork from the galleries.  Stratton Academy of the Arts, Student Teacher, Champaign, IL     October - December 2018  Coordinated with a team of 4 student teachers to design and teach arts curriculum for youth (grades 1-3) in an  after-school art program called Every Day Arts Lab for 6 hours per week, 8 weeks total.   Collaboratively developed and implemented 7 exciting lesson plans based on the ‘Big Idea’ of Identity and  Community. Lessons focused on relevant topics and emphasized art creation, community involvement, critical  thinking, self-expression, and self-reflection.  Designed and assembled an annual Student Art Exhibition with other students, teachers, and staff members.    Buehler YMCA, Camp Counselor, Gymnastics Coach, Art Teacher, Palatine, IL June - August 2017  Safely and enthusiastically coordinated and managed group of 27 students (ages 5-12) in activities including  gymnastics. I was recruited by the YMCA director as a substitute art teacher for speciality programs. 

 

Chi Omega, Active Member, Omicron Chapter at UIUC    December 2016 - Present  Consistently participated in philanthropic events directly benefiting the Make-A-Wish Foundation, an organization  committed to granting wishes to children with terminal pediatric cancer.
