Responsibilities of guides: It is a general practice an Auditee organization to identify a member as a Guide, to help the Auditors and his/her responsibilities are as follows 1) Establishing contacts and timings for interviews 2) Guides auditors to reach the audit location and make sure auditors move around

freely in the company, where applicable 3) Accompany the auditors all times to meet with company confidentiality and

Health & Safety requirements to ensure that fair play prevails 4) Introduces to interviewees 5) Will be present in the Audit and helps in smooth proceedings 6) Many times, act as a key witness for the non conformities

7) Guide can be value, in case of any misunderstandings between auditee or auditor 8) Sometimes also acts as a interpreter, not only from the foreign language aspect, but also to interpret company or technical terminology for the auditors Guides are not buffer between auditors and auditees, they should not themselves be audited, nor they cut across the auditor or auditee by asking or responding to audit questions. As guides can have significant and important role to play, will be selected with care and choose a suitable staff for this function (generally MR person or a QA staff). Audit team leader can also politely request alternatives, if found allocation of inappropriate guides.
