Resources on climate change mitigation

Some degree of global change is irreversible. NASA's role is to provide data needed to understand and model Earth's climate, which can help policymakers make informed decisions on steps to mitigate global change and its effects. It is not NASA's role to develop solutions or public policies related to global climate change. Instead, the agency's mission is to provide the scientific data needed to understand climate change and to evaluate the impact of efforts to control it. (For more information, see NASA's role.)
